APN edit
« on: March 01, 2007, 07:55 AM »

I'm sure many of us have tried editing the other two APNs on the NEC phones to no luck, its a trick from "3" UK to keep their settings locked in.Now here's what you do: on the home screen, type in the code; *#2634#,don't worry if nothing seems to happen, just go to the network setup menu under settings, then go to APN and there you go you are free to edit your APNs! Now there is a 6th menu item under network set up;i.e GPRS,be careful not to detach your GPRS,this is an advanced option on the phone.enjoy it.having problems? let me know.

hey guys, the code is *#2634#.I guarantee this will unlock the other APNs at once.So now you don't have to delete any APN again. you can put in Glo,MTN,and celtel settings all at once.good luck

well i guess you'll have to try that out yourself. Besides the code is not for unlocking phones its just for enabling the GPRS settings for NEC.Honestly i haven't tried it on other phones.

Bimbor,  questions to u:
Do u mean one will have to change the APN host or will it still be nec?
Are u trying to say one will just press *#2634# and send or what?
Please i need more enlightenment.
Thanx

Ok Bamdil,I assume you use a nec, check your phone by going to network setup then check the APN settings, you'll notice that only one of the three APNs can be edited i.e you cannot alter the other two manually, that's where the code comes in; type *#2634# and you don't need to send because the code disappears immediately you enter the last # key. Then next go to network setup and you can now edit all the APNs and input the GPRS settings you want. PS:You will have to enter this code again each time you switch on your phone in case you want to edit the APN again. I hope this helps.

Just type in the code *#2634# and go to where the APN is and edit it if you like isn't this simple enof.Just follow instructions, simple.the handset default code is 0000.some people should not just be allowed to handle some gadgets as complex as a nec (lol).
