well people always have that problem, i did a lot too.. untill i learnt au to optimize my colors based on the clients colors.. you client colors should giv you a hint on au to use it to deisgn your sites..
Another thing is you can use a lot of white spaces if you happen to wark with a sharp dark color, white and grey can fit in into any site too..
and the ultimate tip, study chicks(ladies) the tend to wear light and matching colors so that should inspire u a lot more  Wink

It's nice to see a lady interested in designing.
And now to you question:

Colors are an active part of the design process. Choosing the right colors has always been a problem to designers. This is because they combine colors they like.
When faced with a project remember you are not designing for yourself. Your target audience, and not you, should influence you choice of colors.

Always ask these five questions:
1. Who is my client?
2. Who is my target audience?
3. What message do I want to pass?
4. What reaction do I wish to provoke?
5. How do I wish to be perceived?

When designing a website choose colors wisely. Remember, colors convey emotions and emotions can heavily influence your decision-making process. Your choice of colors for a website should mirror the message and/or feeling you to hope to communicate to the viewer.

You can use an open source application called plone http://plone.org/.  It runs under Zope http://zope.org/.  It comes integratied with most internet application software i.e http server, https server, ftp server, website, forum, document provider, blog, CMS (Content Management Software) and lots more.

It is easy to modify as long as you can spend some time with it.

Sbucareer,
Plone seems to be a super application. but there is a small wahala! If I log into the localhost and try to work, I'm told "emergency user can't do this", "can't do that".  "Create a manager account" How do I create a manager account?

It is years now I managed CMS for a college using plone.  The problem is from when you start plone, that little interface where you tell the server who you are, the port you want your server to listen etc.  don't tell the server you are an emergency user.

Here is user guide for plone

I hope this helps

Hello Bleze,
If your host have cpanel, you should have fantastico auto script installer, and you wont need to bother yourself on how to get and integrate phpBB into your site. Go to www.phpBB.com and download the script you will have the instruction on how to integrate it into your site they are so simple.
