Human Rights Watch Says Ban On Gay Marriage In Nigeria Is A Threat To Democracy!
« on: March 01, 2007, 08:58 PM »

 Angry
Just ridiculous!  Even within the United States, many states do not want to to give any legal basis to  this shameful behavior, moreover President Bush is against it. So why  HRW does not  work on the home front  first before lecturing others?
Gay people are mixing everyting with democracy. If they win  at the international level ,one day or another there will be UN  embargos against countries  that do not want to allow gay marriage.

homophobic people use the "one day" as a stupid excuse to mask their insecurities and fears.

they say "if we legalize gay marriage, one day people will want to marry their siblings" or  according to our original poster "If they win  at the international level, one day or another there will be UN  embargoes against countries  that do not want to allow gay marriage". Ridiculous! why don't we  worry about "one day" when it arrives?

If man can marry man, I see no reason why son cannot marry mother and daughter cannot marry father. After all, it's 2 adults consenting to it, right?

So, some want to see men with earings and  red lips  turning their behinds at every corner in our streets. Why do they want people to tolerate this stuff? There  are lots of islands off african coasts where  those who want to live these kind of live  can be sent.  Human Rights watch even can find a place for them in the north  pole or the south pole.

the same way women wear lipstick and turn their behinds like u claim, people find that sexy and am sure a lot of people find it disgusting too, but then they are more tolerant when the woman does it, same should go for a man that choses to do the same

well, a woman is a woman and a man is a man. Period. "God created the world and he saw it was good.". Remember that.   If our parents were getting married with men we won't be here exchanging ideas on the internet. Human cloning is not the answer .

"a woman is a woman and a man is a man" is no explanation or excuse!

yeah am ecstatic my parent were not gay! but if i was meant to come to this world, i would have, regardless of how i did. my supervisor had 4 great kids with her partner am sure they are somewhere exchanging ideas with people too, they are no less human than we are.

bluenubian are you gay or bisexual or are you just defending gay rights.

I would say I'm not homophobic.  I just think its a waste of time.  I actually work with a lot of Gay people who I get on with and they know I think its a waste of time.  But thats my opinon and what I say doesnt affect them.

But the truth is I am homophobic because I know if anyone in my family said they were Gay I would not understand it.  You see the way we were bought up Gays do not exsit.  It is the African way we cannot accept it and will not accept its instilled in us.    Undecided

Its not a threat to democracy in Nigeria, the Nigerian people support the ban on gay marriage, and since democracy is about the will of the people then it is not threatened.

by the way, I think the ban was stupid, there are much more important issues to deal with than banning gays from getting married, as long as no one is playing hide the sausage with my behind, i'm less concerned.

if people want to be gay, let them be, let people decide with free will what they want.

am jus pro choice

and i didnt know what gay was either growing up, i jus realized that am very tolerant to choices people make, if there's one thing i learnt growing up is never judge people, i know how it feels to be judged by people because of something u did or do and its not a very pleasant feeling, their being gay do not affect me in anyway, it doesnt disgust me and no i don't think a gay guy will someday steal my husband no more than i think another woman would. and am a 100% sure it wont affect human procreation. why then should i be against it. if a person wants to tell me because the bible say so. spare me!

I was also brought up the same way, but i picked what i think was good about how i was brought up and left the rest. i was also thought as a kid, that women are to be totally submissive to their husbands and have no say in what goes on. i sure have chosen not to accept that

With the exception of some people who might have sexual  ambiguity(organs etc) as a problem. And even in that case gan, there should be ways of normalizing/solving such a problem.

With that exception, all forms of homosexual relations is total crap and importantly Waste of Scarce Human resources. I mean , it reduces the number  of Omoges available.

Shey u get me.

Damn it Men. Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

and why not ladyT? they tolerate liars, cheats, robbers and the like so why not homosexuals (thats if you believe it is a 'sin')

its a personal decision, just like smoking, drinking, being a vegetarian or the like, it doesnt mean they are evil or devils, Africans just love being sanctimonious and dramatic

Because as you have stated Africans will tolerate all of those.  But sex is our biggest taboo.  Why do you think so much sexual abuse goes unpunished?  No one talks about it or confronts issuses.

I don't think being Gay is natural but there are many of us "believers" who will enter hell before any gay man or woman.  So its up to every individual to live their lifes how they want but you can't expect everyone to like it.

I can say I don't have a problem with Gays but I know thats a lie I only don't have a problem because it doesnt affect me.

So ask yourself what would your honest reaction be to your brother/sister telling you they were gay.
