OMG !!!!!! life is getting worst. Today on Cnn they were talking about this couple in Germany who are brother and sister. Apparently the brother was in a foster home and he meant his sister when she was 16 and he was 22. Then they knew that they were brother and sister. But still they fell in love and had 4 kids and 2 have mental disablities. Now they are battling their case at a high court in Germany and 3 of their 4 children are with social services. If they lose the man can face up to 2 years in jail. Another thing that was mentioned was that in Germany it is legal to have kids with a family member , but illegal to sex with them . Also it was said that if this couple win this case then it may affect incest laws all over the world. I think it's ok for them to have a relationship provided they use contraceptives whenever having sex.
Since the probability of having a mentally disabled child is so high, they should neutralise themselves and adopt.

No! No! and No again!!! Can you not see what the world is disintegrating into? How could this even be an option? Even if we were to put religion aside (I know no one said anything about religion), it is still not viable to have sex with close members of ones family because it puts the children at risk! Because 'faulty' recessive genetic traits are more likely to be dominant in the offspring. This is a big risk and apart from that,taking this risk makes one responsible (whether they choose to accept it or not) for any deformations in the human life. People are bound to make mistakes, therefore I do not think this sort of risk is worth taking.
Ok, I thought I would be able to pass without saying this but I can't. In my opinion, with the rate the world is going (where people seize to oppose what is so blatantly wrong, and seek to justify it instead -- even by twisting the arm of the law) I can predict that in a century from now, animal-to-human sexual relationships/marriages would be legalised. Even in the Western world. People will raise eyebrows at this today but remember that a century ago, eyebrows would have been raised at the notion of legalising same-sex marriages and killing of innocent foetuses.

I read an article in the Times of London on this story,the author made the point that incestuos relationships were getting more popular in England due to the breakdown of many relationships.Her reasoning was that people felt safer having a relationship with someone they know very well than entering a relationship with what often are "strangers"

I was barely able to go through the ordeal of listening but he seemed to be saying that kids possess the mental capacity to choose whether to sleep with an adult or not.If they chose to do that then noone should be punished
He said he himself had not done it but that those who freely choose it,should not be penalised.He also wanted an end to the criminalisation of child porn since it was "harmless" .
What I didn't get was where he draws the line.At what age do they want the age of consent to be.
