Genotype Of A Baby

Dear all , i really want to know more about genotype, i had to seperate from my fiancee after discovering that we are both AS ,i had insisted on getting married to her even though she had fears.However we both lost confidence when my sister died of sickle cell at the age of 21.We are no longer together,and i heard the genotype of a baby could be detected in weeks.Is  it true?[sub][/sub]
