i and my sisters call him my dear because we grow up hearing our mum call him so.

When referring to him, I say "my dad".
When talking to him, I say "daddy".

I call him daddy or I call him his nickname back in the day. But when referring to him I call him my dad or my father.

when he's around we call him dad.
when we want to make fun we call him oldman.  Grin
when we just want to refer to him(maybe discussion) we call him popsy.
