Elvis Presley married Priscilla when she was 15 or 16. Before then she had lived in Graceland with him. I didn't see America all up in arms about that. Oh sorry, he's white Southern. Not to take away the fact that R. Kelly lives a hard partying lifestyle, as do most singers in whatever genre. I can't stand the double standards of white America. Janet popped a boob and the whole country came to a standstill. Madonna french kisses 2 young singers (Britney and Christina Agulera) on stage and people thought it was cute. Speaking of Brit-Brit, never mind her constant bad behaviour, including flasing her cooch for the world to see, people are making all kinds of excuses for her. I don't see anyone condoning even the slightest misadventure of even the most youthful black entertainer. Sure she has bi-polar disorder (which was quickly diagnosed by arm-chair psyciatrists all over America before she even set foot in a hospital). But who ever tries to understand when a black entertainer gets into trouble???

You got that right but that applies to almost every musician. Most of these urban/hip-hop/R n B artists have once sung about
God, life events, etc so don't be deceived. Just 'cause he sang 'storm's over' doesn't make him a saint. Kind@ like another
side to him. Take for example 2face Idibia who sings bout love, etc. he also has a song, i believe is titled 'Thank you Lord'.
so it's not about that, lots of American artists sing all kinds but still get awards.
@topic, I believe it's because of the issue bout him engagin' in pedophilia. He's still bein' taken to court
up till now so they probably see no reason givin' him awards because he's kind@ 'wanted'. Besides, i never saw him at
any so he probably knows he's never goin' to get one. |
