my oh my hmmmm, well for my best three i would say 1. Lion KIng 1.5---the best of the three parts if u ask me so very funny 2. Aladdin 3 - Aladdin and the King of thieves 3. Beauty and the Beast - men i love all those funny characters lumiere, cogsworth e, t.c. omo u guys to be honest its so hard to pick out of all the numerous ones out there and the ones yet to come.  |

I don't know why macross doesn't get the credit it deserves, everybody talks about gundamn but personally i haven't seen
anything special about it. I came across macross some time last year, i must say i was very impressed. thats what got me into mecha robot
animes.
Afro samurai: I have heard and read good things about this anime and would surely download it when i have time.
sound track where made by wu-tang clan.
each episode cost a million dollars to produce,{pew} I must say i am curious.

Afro Samurai isn't bad. Too violent though and from a little review I saw, the sex is hard core with everything in full view, just a thin line between regular film and pornography. That stuff is even too strong for adult swim. Not surprised about the million bucks episode, with Samuel Jackson and Wu-Tang in the mix, watchya expect?
On a side note, Afro Samurai is a TV series and shouldn't count here,unless there's already a feature out (which I seriously doubt).

The sex isn't hardcore. Its just there. Anime is a lot more liberal than western kiddy animation.

Yes, macross DOES get the credit it deserves. There are homages to it EVERYWHERE. One of the reasons I like Gundam seed and gundam seed:destiny so much is because of the consistent nods to macross both visually and thematically.
Gundam is a Mech series. Macross is more of a top-gun style airforce/space opera/romance story. It isnt a mech series per se, so you won't see it mentioned too often in mech anime circles. If you want to get into Gundam try and hunt down the 1977 original. The animation is crap like speed racer but the storyline is amazing- and you'll understand the Gundam hype.

@ D'zero. Lol I know there's more blood and guts out there, Just check out one of my favourite anime, Ninja Scroll. I was just surprised that it (AS) made it to CN or is it on a different cable network? Nah, I have seen a lot more blood and guts (Mirage of Blaze, totally weird but hey, ) and honestly, I like that more than the western monotonous 'kiddie pacifiers'.

I think the Scroll's strongest point is the convincing characters. For instance, the love connection between Jubei and Kigero is fascinating and very believable. You know from the beginning that you're watching something that ain't real but in the end they glue your attention to the characters. NS is a masterpiece.
