Political Oratory is not popular these days in our nation.
It really doesn't help to correct the inadequacies in our
young democratic establishment if the politicians talk the good talk and
then make a U-turn and cheat and steal and empty the
coffers of our nation.

Forget the good and smart talk. I say do the right thing, speak from the
heart and not from the corner of the mouth. Kabish!

Could it not be some of the reasons why these  folks are bereft of ideas.  best Nigerians political orators delivered good governance to Nigerians. think of Awo, Zik and co.

I remember a member of National Assembly,   Bugaje for chastising his fellow members for being incoherent and devoid of ideas during debates

The media loves orators because they sell papers and move people to watch more of them on TV.  That's all.

@topic,

I learnt long ago that you canot talk right if you do not think right!!!  These Politicians have no ideas and therefore can't articulate any.

In any case, Okotie still stands out as the most articulate and vision filled leader seeking our votes. I really wish him well.  he stand s a much better chance of inspiring our youths to great heights.

If Okotie is the best example of an orator, then we certainly do not need orators in power.  He lacks substance.

Seun, would you say  the samething to OBJ, your  idol. If Okotie lacks "substance" in Nigerian  politics, then I wonder what OBJ and Atiku lack-  may be character and discipline.

First of all, Atiku is not my idol.

Secondly, President Obasanjo is not my idol.  He just happens to know how to handle his more corrupt colleagues.

Thirdly, there is no evidence that Chris Okotie possesses character and discipline.  He probably lacks both. Wink

I hope you have the proofs to substantiate this allegation.  If you do not, I guess Okotie serves as the mirror that reflects you to you.

The burden is on your to provide the proof that Okotie has character and discipline.
All I said is that I can't see any evidence of that.  Charismatic people tend to be pliable in character.
