Laptop Power Pack

My laptops power pack has started acting funny.it goes of on its own and comes back on, sometimes it doesnt come on at all,so i pack it up,only to try again later and it comes up.I'D appreciate any info on what the problem could be,if its fixable,and if not,how much can i get another on for(its a 19V ---3.16A)

i don't understand,

does your laptop go on and off, or does the power pack go on and off?

i'm asking because, if its your laptop, then you've got the same problem i do-random shutdowns.if your laptop is a toshiba satelitte, its a design defect, and your processor fan needs to be cleaned of dust.
