I think I should ask what FUJI is ?
Of course a style of music! be it local or international. All the supposedly accepted songs in the church today are also style of music from different parts of the world,  ah ah look at the maranatha singers now , they sang in kswahili.
If only we even know the stories and origin of some musical instruments then we  will rather clap alone in churches, unbeleivers also use so called church songs to express their lyrics. I am sure if an oyinbo man can pick the fuji beats very well he will perform wonders with it. Shall we just separate religion from culture. Praise God in your own way, in the best pleasing and edifying manners. If fuji will bring unbeleiver closer to the Word then why not use it , but when your mind questions you and you feel this is even pulling these Mushin Delegates down,  then desist. As for me any style of music that comes to my mouth , I shall use in praising my God and dance to it like David danced Smiley

Does the nature of the sound matter so much as the lyrics?
I believe by carrying out any function (like singing) God created us to do is praise to his wonderous power.
If not Fuji, then what? RnB? Rggae? Hip Hop?
Fuji is indigenous Nigerian music. If that is what our musician know, why not praise God with it.
What is evil in Fuji? Someone tell me because I can't fathom what the hell it is.
I can't understand why our culture has become, to many, the very picture of the devil himself.

what is the problem of these so called modern day born again and the new millennium pentecostalists? i think what is impostant is the lyrics in any type of music that is important, in as much as the wordings of the music they are playing is glorifying God why not Fuji music in churches. Why are you not condemning the black American Pentecostal pastors "bishops" Cheesy that use rap music to glorify God. abi is rap in its real form not demonic and satanic? The problem with the new generation Christians we have in Nigeria is that anything traditional should be termed fetish. Listen to the lyrics of the music not the kind of instrument used to play it.

i think the fact that there are that many different instruments and sounds should testify to our various tastes in music and i do not think this becomes a problem in our relationship with God.

i think that, if we have what we can see to be a "stirring" due to certain songs or genres of music we listen to, we  should see that as something for me personally and not neccesserarily across the board.

i do however see the need to be watchful and not disguise our desire for certain type of music as worship.

as someone has already noted, I would rather sing a new song onto the lord

It is not that simplistic. One of the lessons Daniel 3 teaches is that not "all kinds of music" are glorifying to God (see vs. 5). More than the type of music, it is the source and power behind the music that a believer should be quite focused on. Where the Holy Spirit empowers worship and music, there God is glorified.

Nothing more needs to be said. The style is not as important as the spirit and inspiration behind the music.
And realise not all songs that call the name of Jesus is actually inspired by the Holy Spirit.

What is the spirit or inspiration behind Fuji?
Please, all commercial music is the same.  Including Don Moen Music.
You sing to entertain people and make money.  Either through CD sales or offering. Wink

@Seun
I don't expect you to understand what I am talking about. You don't believe in God much less the spirit of God. The people I am talking to understand me.

Bros. I don't know your definition of a true believer o. but as for me a christian song is supposed to point to God and only God. beenie mans 'shake that booty in the name of Jesus' definitely does not point to Jesus Christ. It points to female backsides and does not in anyway glorify God.

The devil is roaring again in the house God. Satan now is making the Church look like the World and the has the moral authority.

Fuji Music is demonic Music Like Hip hop.

Would you say we should Play JUJU Music in the Church? JUJU MEANS VOODOO . Let me tell those that think by being crafty you can convert a man you are making a great mistake.

Only Jesus can save not by the Craftiness of your heart. If you make it easy it does not mean that they will be transformed.

You can sing in your language not in the former pattern as if nothing has changed. When a man is born anew he knows that he must abandon all emblems song and thoughts of the former ways.

We the New Age Christians are a people that are very wicked and we know so much than our father. Satan deceived Eve because she wanted to be WISE we all fell from the grace.

Every thought wisdom or Education that is contrary to God must be thrown away. The bible has songs have we sang it ?  There is devil dance disguised in so many forms and no HARD CORE RAPPER WANTS TO BE LIKE JOHN OR CHARLES WESLEY
