"Best Author" depends on what interests you in a book. Note that I have read millions of books.
For me, the following authors take the lead.
Arthur Hailey - For thoroughly researched, educative and thrilling novels Sydney Sheldon - his novels are captivating. "Sands of Time" is his best work. Dan Brown - For controversial, radical books with religious undertones. Buchi Emecheta - For African, feminine novels. Enid Blyton - For Children's books James Hardley Chase - Detective and Crime - though better suited for teenagers. Danielle Steel - For Emotional, feminine novels Stephen King - For horror.
