And @jbyno, about the questions you asked, I must confess I have never thought about those things. You know, when it comes to working, I try not to think of the benefits. Rather I try to think of the work itself. I put myself in the shoes of the employer and I ask, would I be happy paying all that money to somebody who was not working enough to merit it? I therefore think of enjoying the work so that I can give it my best; then, anything they want to, let them pay me. Will there be accommodation? Who cares! I cannot be short of that. Will there be other exigencies taken care of? Who cares! I will be fine. What I desire most is this, and this mostly: job satisfaction. Which American president said: Do not think of what [NLNG] can do for you; think of what you can do for [NLNG]. Anyway, I hope I don't sound like a hypocrite.

@kuwena, kpele o. i'm sure u're better n stronger now. that was how d silly malaria hindered me from writing my NIM exam. anyways, that's long gone.
if i recall correctly, during d C.B.I. i was asked if a had any problems driving.
1. was anyone asked d same ques?
2. is there going 2 be a driving test along wit d medicals?

@jenks,i was asked d same question.i think it was a routine question.i don't think ur knowing how to drive has anything to do with d medicals.medicals will be to check how healthy u are and maybe whether u have any contagious disease(s).so u have  absolutely nothing to worry about.

NLNG, I'm in-o!

Of course I'm feeling better already. I do not think I have ever been sick for more than two days, and I have only once been admitted to hospital - for two days - far back in 1991. Malaria comes and goes in a day or two at most. Yes, passing out is around the corner indeed, and we are expecting the transformation from kopahood to full employeehood. @wandel, your final appraisals have they been forwarded here to the Regional Office? You know IB Plc loves to retain her corpers; but this one wey ya eye don dey shine for NLNG like my own - na wa-o!  Grin Anyway, I wish you what you wish yourself.  Cheesy

Indeed we are happy people. We are the chosen people, and it is Yahweh that has called us to this life of great opportunity. As we wait patiently for the company we adore to call us to resume work, let us never fail to post daily, words of encouragement on this thread. God Himself is helping us. I remember you all in my daily rosary prayers. And for people like @adrianic and others who are not compliant with the signature of theis thread (NLNG, I'm in-o!) I want to say that I am not pleased with this deviation. Henceforth, be guided.

NLNG I AM IN OOOO!

Hi Guys,

Cool day to begin with. Hope the weather where you are is as cool as it is here today.

@Kuwena
yes, our appraisals have been seen but I have always known that a banking job is just a passing phase for me, my sights are set higher and I would like nothing better than to be able to use my initiative and creativity in a wide range of duties which I wont find in a bank mostly. Guess we must have been in the same room during the interviews of November 17th or 18th last year.

Have a cool weekend everyone and remember, the staff bus of NLNG draws nearer day by day to pick us up to work.

I'm out

NLNG, I'm in-o!

Yes, @wandel, there is a great possibility we were in the same room on November 18th (I think that was the date) for the interviews which held at 146 Murtala Mohammed Way, Kano and lasted till well into the night. I hope you are cool. Yes the appraisals have been sent, and I guess we all were recommended for retention as Executive Trainees in the Happy Bank. Why don't I feel very excited? Is it NLNG?

Of course I am better; I have been better for six days or more now. The so-called sickness only lasted that day. Abi di sickness no dey fear? See-o! Forget yarns, my guyses. NLNG na I'm get us from henceforth. Anyway, make we leave story for tortoise. I am happy we are going forward. I have been busy today, helping with HR work and recruitment, but I could not miss coming online to do the usual posting. These days, we have learnt to put aside our fears and hope for the best, as if we were there already. And are we not?

NLNG, I'm in-o!

Before I go, I would like to question aloud: Is our spirit sagging? We had sworn before now to keep this thread alive at all costs; we had called this thread the fastest growing thread on nairaland.com, reaching a new page each three days; but what do we see now? Some people have refused to post at all! Do you not know that according to the time frames, by this time next week they would have chosen all they want to choose? Does that not tell you that we must go on praying and posting? We are looking up to God for this job, and it is only fair that we trust Him with all our hearts and keep praying and posting as an evidence of this. Please, we must be strong. I wrote the poem below to encourage us:

We Will Be Strong

We will be strong
Tough metal resisting fire
We will be strong
Bold brass after the kiln
We will be strong
Diamond from earthly crust
We will pluck up brawn
And stash in the mantle
Bricks of red and oils of gold
Signify our wealth.
We will remain strong
In all manner weather
Promiscuous strength fighting off dour
Serene wisdom banishing fear
Voracious pride concealing weakness
We will insist on might
To tear down the walls
Psychological strength complimenting mettle
Bold courage affording skill
Saintly hope supplementing grace.
If we are not strong
No one will respect us
No one will smile at us
No one will befriend us
Let us be strong
Selfless debt to ego brawn.

It is our strength that will make us keep posting and being hopefully happy as we await that life-changing day when we shall receive our letters, very likely from FEDEX, telling us to come and resume work in the great NLNG. Do you know what that means? Do you dream at all? It would probably be the best thing to have happened to you up to this point in your life. It would be a transformation. You would be so happy that it would seem as if your heart were breaking. Oh, imagine the exultation! You would sing and praise God, as in the psalms:

Praise God all ye nations
Praise God all ye peoples
For his love is always upon us
He showers his mercy on us forever!

Again, like in Psalm 126:

When Yahweh delivered Zion from bondage
It seemed like a dream
Then was our mouth filled with laughter
On our lips there were songs
The heathen themselves said
What marvels Yahweh worked for them
What marvels Yahweh worked for us indeed
And we were glad;
Yahweh, briing our caprives back again
As streams in the dry land
They that are sowing in tears
Will sing when they reap
They go out, go out full of tears
Carrying seed for the sowing
They come back, come back full of song
Carrying their sheaves
Alleluia!

We shall tell of the wonders of Yahweh even here on nairaland.com; we shall boast to all who care to know that Yahweh loves us. We shall say to them: Look, Yahweh has made me work in NLNG; can you believe it! And we shall skip and exult; we shall dance like David danced when Yahweh's Spirit was upon him; our faces shall glow like the face of Moses, and we shall shout in ecstasy. Oh, it makes me recall when I won the Chevron scholarship in my second year; the feeling was a waow, I tell you! I pray that you feel even better than that when you get this job. You shall be glad indeed.

Please, dear fellow NLNG Hopefuls, let us post and post and post especially this crucial week, when they make the final list of those they are interested in calling; it may be you, it may be me, or it may be soomeone by my side, as is said in the song. Please, therefore, let us encourage one another; these are crucial times.

For the kopas in da house; I want to wish you safe trainings from next week; I want to wish you happy passing out ahead, and God's blessing in NLNG after now. Yahweh is your strength. You will not be alone. Emmanuel!

NLNG, I'm in-o!

NLNG, I'm in-o!

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Transfiguration, for those of us who are Catholics. Transfiguration, as you may know, means transformation; we become changed from within, and begin to lead new lives. I am positive that beginning this week, we will gradually become transformed and better empowered to achieve our goals and aspirations. Especially if we believe. God is willing to help us, if we display the right effort and the right attitude. We will be able to do ourselves proud, and to make those that are dear to us proud as well. Above all, I believe that this is the week when NLNG will make a final list of those they want to employ. By the end of this week, the 80, or 90, or 100, or how many ever people they want will be finally picked. By September we can start. But it is what happens this week that matters the most. We must pray this week most fervently, so that we can experience the saving power of our God. This week is extremely important. I kind of feel it; I kind of know it. Please pray; and above all post words of encouragement this week. I resolve to do so every day of this week. This week is grave. This week is a week of transformation. This week spells our victory. This week is a week of joy. Amen.

NLNG, I'm in-o!

Let me also say I am here on nairaland.com watching to see if we all are posting: @jbyno; @mohid; @eesah; @adrianic; @wandel; @roshmedia; @graces; @sequoia; @kuwena; @jenks; @pisky; @all-of-you. I am logging out for the day. See you all tomorrow. Have a nice rest this night, and for catholics in the house, tomorrow is the Feast of Transfiguration, when Jesus took Peter, James and John up the hill and in their sight became transfigured: His clothes shone like the light, and his face like the sun; and there appeared Moses and Elijah standing there and talking with Him; and Peter said it was good for him to have been there, and he would build three booths, for Moses, and Elijah and Jesus. Tomorrow will mark a turning point in your life; you will never ever stumble. God will be above you to bless; before you to lead; beside you to support and around you to shield. You will ever have cause to smile. God bless you.
