Sports-loving Lagosians: Who Will You Vote For?

           FOR SPORTS TO REGAIN ITS LOST GLORY IN LAGOS STATE


I have observed with deep regret the very deplorable and despicable manner in which Lagos State has been relegated to the background in Sports

Gone are the days when Lagos State was the dominant state, when it was about Table tennis then the likes of Atanda Musa, Yomi Bankole, and subsequently Segun Toriola ensured Lagos State cornered the winners’ medals in competitions taken part in.even the ladies weren’t left out in making Lagos proud then e.g Funke Oshonnaike

What of Athletics, Badminton, Volleyball et al?

How would I ever forget how Lagosians were crazily supporting their darling teams of those days, teams like Stationery Stores, Julius Berger, NEPA, ACB, First Bank, NEPA,. The league then was incomplete without the participation of these teams , but do we have today? Zilch and sadly enough the whole of the South West has been engulfed by the disease which is NO REPRESENTATION IN THE FOOTBALL PREMIER LEAGUE

FYI, the only team from the South West (or better put Yorubaland) is Prime FC Osogbo, now doesn’t that show how negligent our leaders have been to the issue of Sports?

My postulation is; for us to have the vibrancy as numero uno when it comes to Sports restored, Lagosians need to vote in a Governor that is a sportsman himself, sports-loving, and that would be ready to make sacrifices to ensure that our STATE OF EXCELLENCE once again reclaims the No. 1 Spot amongst other states in the Federation

THE PERSON I ADVOCATE FOR IS NO ONE ELSE BUT BABATUNDE FASHOLA (SAN)

Even Segun Odegbami aka Mathematical had written in one of his articles some Saturdays ago in The Punch newspapers how he would love to see Fashola emerge as Governor of Lagos State, having played alongside him, where as a striker Fashola himself scored 3 goals in a recent friendly game played, now tell me how many of our pot-bellied politicians can still take to the field and still do such. Fashola had never lost touch with his sports-playing constituency as he also played other games prominently too

We can take a cue from Chief Orji Uzor Kalu and the way he sponsored Enyimba to the extent that they eventually brought glory to the country by breaking the jinx we had been faced with at African Champions’ league level. can't the same be said of Dr Peter Odili who transformed Eagle Cement to a giantbeater team- Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt? What of how Bukola Saraki has been able to fund the Sports Academy in Kwara State?

There is no time like now for us to actualize our vision of a Lagos truly excellent in sports

i think Jimi Agbaje is the right man for the job.what people failed to understand is that,Tinubu has done a lot of damages to lagos state and the only way to cover his tracks is to get a muppet that would be loyal to hima after leaving the office. Fasola is just a figure head that would continue to be answerable to Tinubu.
just look at the political scene of this country critically,you would agree with me that no state governor agree to support his deputy to contest for governorship office,WHY?Because they know that they would be easily exposed to all their misdeeds.
Is a pity,but God will surely judge them.
Another area that i want to correct Fasola is,Why should he wear Manchester United Jersy while campaigning?
Am very sure that many Arsenal and chelsea supporters would not vote for him.

I don't think wearing a jersey for a clubside would victimize him. Everyone has a club which he/she supports, even you. So I don't think that would make you any less person. He is just trying to portary that he is a sports loving person.

Let the so called Barr. Babatunde Fashola tell the whole Lagos State how he awarded a contract of N7Billion to himself serving as the Chairman of the Lagos State Tenders Board.

A thief like Babatunde who told the whole lagos state the project is ongoing, i have been to Eko - Akete for only God knows how many times, i am yet to see two blocks standing on each other, whereas the contract had been awarded for over three years in his reign as the Chief of Staff of Lagos State.  He is a mad man, am sorry to say.

I think politics should be issue based and not character-assasinations being carried out between fashola and koro. I really admire agbaje's master plan for lagos and would like to see him become governor

None of them has a plan 4 sports- even our debates didn't seem to think of enquiring about sports. Like Agbaje says- issues are prioritised. Solve d major issues first and d others 'll take place.
