6,500 may not be a whole of cash, but i would rather donate it to the vote for Atiku Campaign even after May 29th than dash some very smart criminal. The foundation is not on the educational charities list of England and Wales. The only trace of it online is that one site that advertises the scholarship.I checked the british council site too and there was no trace of it yet the form asks if you got the info from british council among other sources. And am not a stickler for spotting errors(probably a few in this post by the way), but the heading of the form is missing a 'U' in the word foundation. An ordinary typo, but odd all the same. I have to say that the hoax is a well contrived one, but naija smart pass that one now, abi, 6666 u suppose go join efcc jare

Dear Patrick,

Thank you for your enquiry.

British Council only has details of the scholarships which we administer.  For information on British Council scholarships which are available to Nigerian students, you will have to contact the British Council office in Nigeria: http://www.britishcouncil.org/nigeria-learning-funding-your-studies.htm

With regards to the specific scholarship you are interested in, you may find the following information useful:

All charities in the UK must be registered with the Charities Commission and have a registered charity number.  I have searched for this charity on the Charities Commission website and there is no record of a charity by the name of Carrington Heritage Foundation.  You can search for charities at: http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/registeredcharities/first.asp

However they are registered as a private company.  All companies in the UK must be registered with an organisation called Companies House, and you can search for registered companies at:
http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/4676b4ed7cf0eacf3280deb64f0568a0/wcframe?name=accessCompanyInfo

You will have to decide yourself whether to apply for this scholarship, however I would recommend contacting Carrington Heritage Foundation to question their claim that they are registered as a charity in the UK.

I hope this information is useful to you.
Kind regards

Well Folks! If my memory is still OK, I'd say this same people did a scholarship last year and we didn't hear the end of the matter. I'll advice them to dispense with last years applicants before anything else! And if you ask my opinion i'd say it's Pure Scam.

For your information, this is a carefully ploted SCAM of international collaboration, many of the posters on this forum are part of this scam, by their fruits you can recognise them.
Its very unfortunate to hear that someone who must have completed secondary school could come up to say that just because Nigerian banks are selling some JUNK forms, then that makes it automatically authentic.
THEY CANT FOOL US, THEY WILL RATHER FOOL THEMSELVES JUST LIKE YOU ARE SEEING THEM DO AND THEY WILL ALWAYS REMAIN FOOLS!!.
BE WISE!!!! A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE!!!!

I have no doubt in my mind that it is a complete fraud. Why? No Uk scholarship is only meant for nigerians, Secondly, scholarship for generality of people from Uk never, never and never demanded any upfront payment to be awarded scholarship.

On issue of bank involvement, did you know banks were also used extensibly by wonder banks e.g wealth solution, penny wise and so on. Get to know one thing that you too can print anything, I say anything and take it to the banks to sell for you at a fixed price?

But if you want to be scammed go ahead and buy the form. I will be waiting for your success story
