Ebereonwu, a prominent member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) was killed in a ghastly road accident last Friday in Lagos, Nigeria.
Here is the statement from Folu Agoi, the chairman of Association of Nigerian Authors, ANA Lagos.
"I hereby announce, with a heavy heart and deep sense of loss, the passing on of EBEREONWU, music producer, movie producer/director, poet and member of the Lagos Branch of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA Lagos). He was involved in a car crash. The tragic event, according to a telephone text sent to me by Chike Ofili this morning, occurred at Alaka Bus Stop, Surulere, Lagos, around 12 midnight on Friday (Bad Friday), April 6, 2007.
He put in an appearance (probably his last public appearance) at the ANA/Cadbury Awards Ceremony held on Thursday, April 5, 2007.
Among his creative works are: SUDDENLY GOD WAS NAKED (1995), COBWEB SEDUCTION (1997), INSOMNIAC DRAGON (2000) and UNPUBLISHABLE POEMS (2004). The movies produced by him include: THE INTRUDER, SWEET SIXTEEN, FISHERS OF MEN, KING OF THE JUNGLE & PICCADILLY.
"Details of his funeral arrangements will be released in due course.
"May the Almighty grant him eternal peace, and his beloved the fortitude to bear the great loss".
