see man am not saying Ghana is not a nice place but truth be told its like taking a snap shot or a story of Abuja and imagining that is how the whole Nigeria is. So maybe the other region of Ghana are a far cry from the capital. Say countries like SA and Egypt and the arab african nations and i will not complain, but Ghana NOOOooooooo

The pictures are nice, nothing wowo in those pics. I must say though, after seeing those them, I think people have been over exaggerating Ghana.
Lovely place though. The major differences are not in the way the place looks, clearly.

@, Black those pictures you Attach there they are taken in OSU in Accra.Have you take pictures inside Accra Slum I am talking about the capital itself.Accra is a Slum. The Hole places have change now. Because there is no maintenance. The street light not working anymore.Accra is dump. some of your pictures is a Tourist Attractions in a local place in Accra not the main place. Lagos is even more far better than Accra. Wake up from your sleep. You are those Nigerians going Abroad to spoil the Image of Nigeria. When Most Nigerian who grow up in a Slum in Lagos they always say the hole Nigeria is like that and started talking trash to their Oyibos girlfriend. Fool Idiot. Russia in the World has the most largest Slum in the World. Most Nigerians Abroad I am truly disappointed in you guys.If you don't Love Nigeria then go and become a Citizen in Somalia I think they are giving a citizen to Foreigner.

Regardless of "selective" picture posting of both Nigeria and Ghana, the truth is all too obvious.
Nigerians generally shy away from reality, and refuse to admit any wrong, when it concerns Nigeria.
Overrall, Ghana is a nicer place, it's more developed and organised, Nigeria's chaotic in comparison. Things in Nigeria are unlikely to improve, unless Nigerians as a whole admit her shortcomings, and they are legion!

@ OneNaija Learn to not put words in other peoples' mouths, especially if you do not know them! Anyways, neither country is better. Both Nigeria AND Ghana are THIRD WORLD countries with shitty spots all over! The only exception is one has shown the world it has a working, transparent democracy, while the other. . . .

Why are so many of my people in denial? Another way Ghana leads West Africa in example is in it's oil sector. Ghana has just recently explored their vast oil reserves, but they have already been praised by numerous International agencies for the transparency, and orderliness of that sector. With Nigeria's problems, I wouldn't be surprised if one day you see the oil companies shutting down their facilities and moving to Ghana, as well as Angola (another country Nigeria could take a few notes from, minus the MPLA corruption of course). Ghana also has a relatively low amount on ethnic/religious tension, hence the fact you almost never hear about ethnic, or religious riots there.
Now don't misconstrue my words, I love Naija to death, and will represent my nation until the end. But, I also believe that you should give credit where it is due.

@ Blackspade, I think Ghana is generally a well governed country today.
However, the way you compare Nigeria and Ghana is essentially like comparing apples and oranges.
Ghana's transparency (so far) may be praised, but they had a road map of pot holes to avoid, simply by learning from Nigeria's mistakes. They have found oil whilce also growing true democracy, not at a time of military rule, as with Nigeria.
They have relatively few ethnic and religious clashes, yes, mainly because the main tribe is an overwhelming majority in the country. This cannot be said for Nigeria.
They dont have religious clashes because basically everyone belongs to one religion, muslims in Ghana are a small minority, how many Ghanaian muslims have you ever met?
Compare that to Nigeria, its a very different story.
You also have to look at history, Nigeria is a country which was ruled as three protectorates by the British, we were formed without any national identity, after distrust was first fostered. We also have a civil war in our past.
You cant just look at the surface to compare the two countries. Nigeria has more in common with places like Congo, Rwanda, darfur in terms of history and national disunity.
You speak too soon, when the oil starts to flow and people are tempted with greed, we shall see.
That being said, we can definately learn alot from the Ghanaian electorate, it is their mindset which paved the way for democracy, Kuffour and the ruling party could do nothing about it, the people were firm in what they wanted.

Them dey take light everything time. No serious light here anymore like Nigeria even the street light nur dey work anymore. You wen say You see light everywhere u dey lie well well. too much light off. You need to come to Ghana again. Visit Achimota,Nima,Taifa,St John,Haatso,Madina Those are city in Accra. You will run away in a mins because the hole place is mess up. The only place i think you are guy are going. Is OSU and Airport residential Area which are tourist center. Just leave there and go to the place I mention. You will know peoples are living in big poverty. You cant compare Lagos to Accra. Lagos is far better than Accra.VI or Ikoyi is far better than OSU. Sometime when you Nigerians travel to a place you like to praise thing which you don't see because peoples say they are nice. Come and stay in Ghana and Witness your eyes. Those Wen say Ghana fine pass Lagos them mama well well.Una be big fool. How can you compare Lagos to Accra.Una nur well at all. First No Job at all for Ghana citizen here. The Companies here they are all own by Nigerians and Foreigner.Ghana suffer for job more than Nigerians. make una nur dey talk wetin una nur see.

Maybe because Nigeria is bigger. The pictures of Accra are nice and shows an orderly society that is also clean. Check out Achimota College, a premiere secondary school in Ghana and compare it with King's college, the most famous high school in Nigeria. The building at Achimota college is well maintained, and conveys an aura of dignity. King's college is rundown.

Excuses, excuses, and more excuses.
How long will we continue to use these same excuses to justify why Nigeria is in the state it is currently in? It's really getting old.
It's Europes fault, no it's because we have so many ethnicities, no it's because we have more religions, blah blah blah. . .
