Why I Am Not A Christian Anymore

The truth is you never met with the Saviour and thus you cannot really lay a claim to had been a Christian.  You were just a church folk just like many today whose idea of Christianity is some social gathering.  Jesus the Christ is a Living Being, who reveals Himself to men who are humble enough to seek His Face. I agree that the whole thing does not make sense but that is not enough to throw away the baby with the water.  Though in your own case, there was no baby, just water.  Your faith in Christ had no substance.  Knowing about the Christ is not enough, an encounter with Him is a must and makes all the difference. 

If you think that logic can answer all things, then you will have somany things unanswered.  For example, logically, expalin how life started.   I wish you well.

please can you elucidate on how not being a christian is irrational.

nobody ever said you were never a christian, being a christian before is not enough gaurantee that you are still a christian. i believe you started this discussion probably because you felt you need help from people.this life is far more than just ordinary logic reasoning and mathematical calculation it is a supernatural issue caused by a supernatural existing factor. can you explain the principle of how the first human came into existence through ur logical reasoning or your perceived perfect mathematical calculation? just think about the scientists, where did their knowlegde come from? did it metamorphose? or what happened?. Jesus is the way the truth and the life no ne cometh unto the Father except through Him.
Where you there at the beginning of creation?ur present belief, did it explain the beginning of creation or can it explain it?

Did you really meet Him as in person to person?  I am still wondering how one can meet with the Saviour and after deny His existence.  One can backslide as in not being faithful, but to deny His existence bits my imagination.  I will like you to throw more light on what you mean by being burnt badly.  Jesus is alive and well.

whats our business with that if u r no more a christian - thats your decision - whay the announcement? that doesnt change God or who He is.

Seun, am a new member as at yesterday and i seem to fall in love with u and this beautiful achievement on nairaland. I wish i can imagine what u could be passing through for whatever made u a non-christian afterall. Mine came last year when after being faithful with both my body and soul, pursuing after God and loving everything he wishes me to love. I wanted what He wanted because, i believe He has me. Seun at 30 years, a single lady, i developed multiple fibroids! No man in view, no relationship whatsoever. I became a ghost of my very self. I ask God questions, my mentors could not just passify me. (this may be a less situation than yours) But u know what He said to me "I trust u can handle it datz why its coming ur way" (Quite Unreasonable ryt?). I was operated upon this year May, a complicated case but it was successful, lots of money involved, 5 medical consultants. bravo!!! one of the medical doctors fell in love with me and thatz it.
Selwhgn Hughes (Everyday with Jesus) before his death last year, some years back lost his two boys (grown ups) to automobile accident on the same day, lost his wife to a terminal disease the following year, he said "I ll back the world than deny Him". He continued till he died at 72 last year. One of my guardians married for 13 years without children, the hussy died in a ghastly auto crash while going to preach somewhr, leaving her childless. She said to me "Even if God doesnt exist, i ave no regrets but I know He lives" These r just the e.gs not to bore u.
This is not to convince you to do anything that u do not desire, but u know what am still with God through Jesus Christ my Saviour and lifter. I know he wont want me to cry again but if not, am too attached to Him than leave Him. There are stories of woes from faithful people out there, some left and some held on because they never had an alternative. Its just like nairaland, was it a minute trial that brot this great result? Mayb u even failed and tried saveral times and here we are. Christianity is not what we are made to believe it is by our hungry ministers these days and thatz why we r always dissapointed and it wont take us time to go even farther than where we r coming from. I can't blame u for any single step u ave taken but ur so-called mentors that don't even know what they are doing. They just establish motivational centres they colour church for us. Oh Seun am tired of going on, and there is an ache in my heart. But please i leave u with this, go on as an achiever that u r! Never settle for less! Go on and rule ur world! Fulfill purpose much more than u ave even done. And maybe, consider God one more time?

In a bid to appeal to Seun to reconsider his stand, all sorts and manners of people have claimed 'personal encounters' with the 'Lord'. Others claimed they talk to him - maybe regularly.
Just for certainty, can you please describe how the lord you encountered look.
And also his voice - since you listen and talk to him.
I hope someone won't say they can't describe him.
You must be able to describe someone you have 'personally met' as many people on this thread have claimed.
You might be able to help convince Seun since he apparently hasn't.

Don't forget that recently in this country, a famous 'man of God' 'encounterd 'him' where 'he' assured him he would make him the president of Nigeria in 2003, then 2007.

So what happened to that claim of encounter/vision/dream/inner voice.

have you ever pondered why doctors say they cannot understand what is rong with a pateint since all their medical diagnoses show absolutely nothing is wrong??? Come on, wake up, there is more to life than meets the eyes. don't kid yourself.
