I love babies and i came across something really interesting.
I imaging how much stress it could be taking care of a baby, though it is fun but there are just sometimes your baby starts crying and you really don't know why he/she is crying, you try everything to make them stop but they don't stop and seeing them crying inconsolably hurts you so bad to know you can't do anything to help them.
In an attempt to stop them frp, crying,You Carry them and start petting them by shaking them. That may work sometimes but its dangerous to babies' Health.Because when you shake a baby vigorously,it causes internal bleeding and increases the pressure of the brain which in a result causes the brain to pull apart thereby inflicting injury on the baby. This could lead to a condition know as shaken baby syndrome .
What if you could know exactly what is making them cry by the way they cry and be able to do exactly what they asking you for instead of doing otherwise in an attempt to please them
Wouldnt that be cool?
Anyway Here are the 5 major Ways they cry,and by listening carefully to the pattern, you could tell what they are saying. They are 1 Nehhhh - Hunger. 2 Owh - Sleepy 3 Heh - Discomfort 4 Eairh - Lower gas,Flatulent Stomach. They want to poo or something. 5 Eh - Burp me.You Put them on your shoulder.
Neh I'm hungry - An infant uses the sound reflex "Neh" to communicate their hunger. The sound is produced when the tongue is pushed up on the roof of the mouth and the sucking reflex is triggered.
Owh I'm sleepy - An infant uses the sound reflex "Owh" to communicate that they are tired. The sound is produced much like an audible yawn.
Heh I'm experiencing discomfort - An infant uses the sound reflex "Heh" to communicate stress, discomfort, or perhaps that they need a fresh diaper. The sound is produced by a response to a skin reflex, such as feeling sweat or itchiness in the bum.
Eairh I have lower gas - An infant uses the sound reflex "Eairh" to communicate they have flatulence or an upset stomach. The sound is produced when trapped air from a belch that is unable to release and travels to the stomach where the muscles of the intestine tighten to force the air bubble out.
Eh I need to burp - An infant uses the sound reflex "Eh" to communicate that they need to be burped. The sound is produced when a large bubble of trapped air is caught in the chest and is trying to release out of the mouth.
But to get the best result you have to listen to the pattern of their cry carefully. Heh And Eh could be confusing,so listen to it carefully.
Trust me,they all work.
You can try this with your babies and post replies to let other people know how well its working. enjoy

Yeah, I heard about the baby language. I'm pretty sure it was on Oprah. A woman came up stating she had discovered the baby language. It seemed to work on the babies presented on the show.

Its called the "Dursten Baby language" and its not made up, however shadex forgot to mention 2 important facts, a baby will only use this language if u respond to it. Secondly, they use this language from Birth till about 3months, and then, the cooing starts, like goo goo. I personally used the neh with my son and it worked every time

Does african baby have the same cries as oyinbo babies? The list you provided is for oyinbo pikin or what? If the baby says "ak" "ak" does it mean the baby wants akamu or akara "og" "og" for ogi Would you not have hypertension when the baby says "cig" "cig" Abeg no smoke in front of your kids o

@ Topic
I actually watched a lady on Oprah, who said the same things about baby languages. Interesting, but unfortunately I do not believe that theory in practice. All babies do not cry alike for one.
I suppose it is wot really works for you as a parent. If you believe the baby language then so be it, as for me I will let instinct be my tutor, not trying to understand the language my baby is speaking so as to attend to him/her @ Pawpaw

This is the problem with Naijas and Africans in general, when someone comes up with something new, rather than give it a try and see if it works, you start criticizing!! and I am sure the person talking about ak ak for akamu, doesnt have kids! Its empty vessels that make the loudest noise! @ Amigos, i watched the show on Oprah as well, and the lady said the babies usually make these sounds BEFORE they start to cry, you just have to be observant if you want to use the language. There is also sign language for toddlers and pre schoolers! @ pawpaw and software, you guys are laughing now, but i'm sure when u have kids, you will secretly try out this language

Typical male ego! you think talking to your baby makes you look crazy?? its a shame! I used this same baby language to communicate with my baby, and a lot of people were amazed to see how it worked! I even used it in public places for your information! its best you learn, rather than act like you know it all! How do you know that people will laugh at you if you try it??? and even if they laugh, so what?? your baby is happy because it knows that you will respond whenever he/she asks for something! BabyCakes what do you mean? Of course I have kids. All am saying is you would look stupid if you start talking baby talk in public because they are meaningless. If you no believe me, try am yourself. Also, the baby language is not for you to use, its just a way for the baby to tell you what it wants, so you don't have to say goo goo gaa gaa back!

I would welcome such idea, if na naija person do the research,
