well the 1st step would be to get a graphic software you can try downloading gimp and inkscape. then get familiar with the environment. the rest would follow

Gimp is free and here it is http://www.gimp.org/I think you can get a demo version of photoshop (photoshop is the industry standard for image manipulation). |

Leave your email so I can send you a link of where to download Photoshop for free. After downloading Photoshop, go to google and search for Photoshop tutorials. Infact you can check this thread on Nairaland http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-40984.0.html for links to phototshop tutorials. If I may ask, are you thinking of pursuing a career in the graphics industry or are you doing this as a hobby? If you are thinking of a career in the industry I suggest you also think of getting your hands on 3D graphics applications. Graphics are either 2D or 3D, if you have knowledge of both, chances of working improves dramatically. With 2D graphics you can manipulate images and make short animations, with 3D applications you can make movies. Watch any Hollywood movie and you will see the power of 3D applications. I hope this helps. |

There's a new version of photoshop just released, am having trouble with all the cracks I found. A friend has promised me a better crack by wednesday. Portable Photoshop CS3 Extended sent to you.
I have sent you a new link. This is portable photoshop only 60mb. You may wonder why it is so small compared to the original link i sent. This was built using VM, some presets were stripped and relocated. C:\Documents and Settings\user\AppData\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3Presets so load location through your shell or from preset menu in photoshop. I hope this nails it. Enjoy!

Graphic illustration (Art and design) was my speciality, but this is all just a hobby for me now since I no longer work in the industry. My love for 3D animation however remains.

I did gather from one of your earlier posts that you're in the 'yook'.
So i'm assuming that it's the lure of the IT bonanza and it's figures that has lured you away from your 'first love'.
I suppose it happens, one has to think of corn on the table first, on the other hand going by the quality of some of the posts seen here in these graphic forums, NG needs quite a bit of help
