Lagos definitely has better roads than Nairobi, no doubt. However, Nairobi Central business district is more beautiful than Lagos Central business district. You just need to look at shots taken from the ground - e.g. it's clean, has very many amenities in the CBD e.g. modern movie theatres, countless restaurants, casinos, hotels (and all these smack in the middle of the downtown area, not to talk of all the other amenities in the suburbs) making it very tourist-friendly, etc. That said, this is NOT a competition and we should be able to appreciate each others countries without envy.

ah Kengirl, we definately need bigger road, lagos has a population of over 12 M people, they all use them roads, as for cleaningness, you got it wrong, have you seen pictures of our VGC Victoria garden city, ? a whole new artificial island reclaimed from the sea?, Kenya is good, they are trying but Nigeria will remain the Giant of africa sorry lol oh and one more thing, most of those buildings you see in Nigeria are privately owned, not owned by government however big they are.

King of africa in what, in terms of gdp? Yes nigeria will probably have the largest in the coming years, but wait isnt it the most populous country? But in terms of standard of living, human developement index, poverty levels, well nigeria is far from being a 'king' so is kenya.

Standards of living in Nigeria is OK, I will say so because we have the resources to be self suficient, look at all those sanction we got from the developed world during our military rule 10 years in all, oh and one more thing we now have forign reserves in excess of £40 million, no a lote but only south africa has more than this.

Hi ericko, yes, we're not refuting that Nigeria is a giant compared to Kenya in terms of GDP, foreign reserves, etc. But at the same time you have to remember that Kenya is not as well endowed as Nigeria in terms of natural resources. Having said that, yes, I have seen very many pictures of Victoria Garden city on skyscrapercity.com, and yes, it is beautiful. But Nairobi has many extremely beautiful suburbs. However, we are talking about the Central Business District, and again, I will say that Nairobi takes the cake in that respect. I'm not saying this because I'm Kenyan. I'm saying it because it's a fact. I'm the kind of person who gives credit where it's due. I have no qualms admitting to the fact that Nigerian roads are better than Kenyan roads. Why? Because it's a FACT! So, come on now, try and be a little objective, ok? You cannot be number one in everything. I personally think that Yaradua is doing a great job, and there has been a lot of positive change in Nigeria. However, there's still a lot of room for improvement since a lot of the oil money is still hogged by the few at the top, leaving those at the bottom still struggling (the same can be said of Kenya, where there are still many people struggling in spite of a growing economy). But things are happening slowly but surely. I know the Nigerian middle class is growing, which is good. By the way, I'm very, very knowledgeable about Nigeria because my boyfriend is Nigerian, and I have numerous naija friends.

Well Endowed lol I like that word,we are all progressing but in diffrent pace my dear, oh and are you in the UK . and regarding CBD that term is not applicable to us, we tend not to combine our Biz in one location we like to stretch so there aint no concentration, since the internet usage is rapidly expanding, we tend to look for cheaper location to invest money and get reasonable labour thereby making products competative in the global market,We all as Nigerians are very proud people and know our stuff, its just bad governance that has killed us but thank God, educated people are now in power, not school cert.

The most corrupt country in africa. Loool are u even serious, the last ranking i saw has nigeria way above kenya and which parliament is that that body guards go in, not the one i know of thats for sure. And my goodness why should u be celebrating what happened in kenya recently, doesnt nigeria also experience terriible religious violence, do u also enjoy that. Isnt it funny thats its only africans that celebrate each others misery and bash each others achievement. The cnn syndrondrome i guess, u need to watch something else bro.

maasai, I'm BACK!!! nway i don't know why SOME nigerians always feel that this is a competition? why? no kenyan denies that nigeria is ONE of the africa's giant, THATS A FACT but i don't know why SOME nigerians find it hard to admit that that Kenya has a cleaner more organised CBD than what nigeria has, THATS A FACT. why bring politics and economy comparisons here? because its sad that some of u are comparing nigeria to kenya instead of nigeria to south africa or egypt. the three giants of africA. some words of advice to my west africaN brothers/ sisters: IT IS NOT WEAKNESS TO ACKNOWLEDGE SOMEONES ACHIEVEMENTS.
