It is a common cliche among us (Nigerians) to refer to a newly born male child as ' bouncing baby boy', but why do we refer to them as bouncing? What do we call a girl child?

The term 'bouncing' is used because the child was delivered safe and sound. not every baby is a bouncing baby boy or girl
