It's glaring that the Governor of Abia state is shameless. He has notthing to offer the people of Abia and he still wants a 2nd term. Both he and his supporters are evil. It'll be a shame on Abians if T. Orji wins a 2nd term.

He has never won any term!!

The real problem with declaring a state of emergency in Abia is that heavy concentrations of troops are needed in Northern Nigeria where there have been very open, serious and credible threats of throwing the country into turmoil, unimaginable bloodshed and chaos. Any largescale troop movements outside the North will likely be counter productive for the whole country at this time. It is a delicate situation.

The way I see out of this, is impeaching Orji and dismantling the kidnapping cartels. Orji, the ritualist is definitely the mastermind behind Abia's problems.
I believe he will be one of the politicians that EFCC will stop from contesting in PDP's new screening system.

T.A. Orji will not get his second term in Abia because he needs the votes from Aba which is impossible. He is not going to campaign in Aba because he will certainly be stoned to death. The last time he came to watch Enyimba F.C play in Aba he was pelted with stones and bags of pure-water because of "common" bad roads. That was two months ago.

@GEJ Should damn all political calculations and declare a state of emergency.

An employee of a DFI in Nigeria whose wife is 5 months pregnant and newly married was killed while travelling from Asaba to Port harcourt on official duties by kidnappers and the driver of the car kidnapped. 5 employees of a communications outfit where killed by kidnappers in a base station by kidnappers.

Enough is enough!

You explanation is ridiculous at best. The reality is that GEJ does not care. Are you telling me if jonathief's wife was kidnapped today , GEJ will not call a state of emergency in Aba and send troops over? Beaf please put aside your unrelenting support for GEJ for a second and think like a patriotic Nigeria. We all know your judgement has been clouded since your tribesman became president. If one of your beloved relatives was one of the people kidnapped or killed will you be singing the same tune.

GEJ is not a genuine person , he is the same old soldier come soldier go character. He is more interested in his campaign. Do you know how disgraced I felt this afternoon, I was having lunch with a couple of my SA friends here in Johannesburg and was still proudly digesting the EKO Atlantic advert for i-list Nigeria when the news broke out on CNN.I buried my head in shame being the only Nigerian in the midst of my friends. If I was in GEJ’s shoes , I would have come out to issue a quick statement to show my support for the kids kidnapped and assure the people that everything will be done to ensure the safe return of the kids.

Up till now ,it is 6:10 p.m South African time Jonathief has been quiet. Do you think if this was the Us or Sa ,the president will be quiet. How many heads have rolled ,how many public officials have been sacked or asked to resign over the matter? That is the difference btw Sa, Us and Nigeria. The leaders here have shame unlike Nigerian leaders who do not give a rat’s azz about the common man. You don’t need a battalion of soldier to deal with ABA.

This is what I have been saying for years , Nigeria is just fxcked up. Here in SA they have special units that deal with organised syndicates like this. With all the money we make as a nation , why don’t we have an elite underground unit that can tackle kidnappers and armed robbers instead we rely on chop make I chop detectives in a very disgraceful police force.

If I were Jonathief ,I would have visited Aba today to show the nation that my heart is with the families of the kids and I would have deployed at least 500 military men including special forces. If we can send thousands of our soldiers to their death in foreign lands all in the name of peace keeping, how come we can’t keep peace in our home land. I am sure if you go to Aba now , there is no solid investigation going on. The police force is so corrupt that you are safer without their help.

Jonathief lacks leadership qualities, he is a follower not a leader, such a shame for Nigeria; a president who might as well be mistaken for a houseboy.

I wish GEJ can muster enough strength to declare state of emergency in Abia state. I wonder what he is still waiting for.

Sorry, i forgot T.A. Orji is their new bride as such he is untouchable.

I read about this today and i have not been myself after:
A good instance was that of a family that was reportedly besieged at their home off Port Harcourt Road during which two little boys were ordered at gunpoint to have sex with their mother. As the first boy bluntly refused, he was shot dead in the presence of the mother. The mother had to prevail on the second boy to do the bidding of the hoodlums as she never wanted him dead.

This is one of the silliest posts I have read on NL. Do you know the difference between a governor and a president? Are you just ignorant or just congenitally impaired? In a federal system, the president will only react in a local matter after he or she has been briefed by the governor of the state , police and other security officials.
Also you should stop insulting our president, did you steal money with him? How do you know he is a thief? The next time you feel embarrassed by this country, ask me I will give you a list of the UN workers despoiled in South Africa in their hotel rooms.

empty talk from our president

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-465107.0.html

Abuja — PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan yesterday vowed to address increasing insecurity, especially kidnapping in the South Eastern part of the country, saying "we will spend the last money we have in government to crush it."

He said apart from scaring potential investors from the area, kidnapping and other crimes had dented the nation's image in the comity of nations.

The President said this while addressing the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.

He said: 'I have decided that I must tackle it frontally. We can no longer continue to live in a society where even if your wife is going to church, you have to look for Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) to follow her. If your children are going to school, you have to look for machine-gun-carrying security people to follow them. How many people can afford that?

"We are not too sure of when you move out some body will be driving, people will come and kill your driver, kill your orderly and later ask for N5 million sometimes even less.

"In some parts of the South South and South East, Port-Harcourt was in a terrible situation at a time but we have to thank Governor Rotimi Amaechi, the economy is coming back because he has faced it frontally.

"In the South East especially Abia State, it is becoming a state where we can no longer accept it. And I said that we will spend the last money we have in government to crush this insecurity we have because without security, you can't even develop.

"Aba is a very important city because I am from that part of the country and I know how relevant Aba is. At a time, all the banks in Aba couldn't even operate. The whole of Aba is like a big market. The whole of the economy is almost wiped out because of kidnapping.

"We can no longer continue and when we do the studies, look at some communities, we discovered unfortunately that even community heads, who are traditional rulers ,with all the paraphernalia and regalia of office, are involved in kidnapping.

"In some communities, even the women are involved in kidnapping. Because when they kidnap, the women cook food and go and give to the victims. I say we can no longer tolerate this.

"Those communities where we have this kind of situation should prepare that if kidnapping people is good enough, government also has the machinery to kidnap some of them. We are no longer going to accept it. We have decided and we will go all out to crush it."

President Jonathan said

Jonathan to Invite Finland-based Student to Help Fight Insecurity
By Paul Ohia, 07.26.2010

A Finland based student, Dipo Daramola and his colleagues may be on his way to bag a top assignment at the presidency Following a suggestion made on President Goodluck Jonathan’s Facebook status on the way to fight insecurity and kidnapping through technology as the president has promised to invite him for consultation.

The student’s interface with the president commenced when he responded to Jonathan’s expression of his administration’s wish to deploy technology to combat the menace of kidnapping following the release of four kidnapped Nigerian journalists, Mr. Wahab Oba, Chairman of the Lagos chapter of Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Adolphus Okonkwo, the union’s secretary, Sylvester Okereke , Sola Oyeyipo and their driver a fortnight ago.

The president had stated on his status: “I am pleased with and welcome the release of the four journalists who were kidnapped in Abia State . I join millions of Nigerians to felicitate with their families. Kidnapping, armed robbery and other sundry crimes are a result of the erosion of our traditional values in addition to economic difficulties.”

Jonathan said Nigerians have no choice but to revive their value system and rebuild the economy adding that he has directed the speedy intensification the deployment of technology based infrastructure that will help unmask these individuals and their sponsors.

Daramola, then responded to this posting by revealing that he and other Nigerian colleagues at Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland are currently involved in a project called The GPS gate, GPS trace, Google Maps on a mobile device to trace the location of the mobile device. (GSM Tracker).

“I think this project will help a lot in building the Nigeria Technology system section towards the VISION 2020.” Daramola stated thereby eliciting an assurance from the president that someone from his office will soon reach out to him.
“ I am proud of the work he is using his intellect to achieve. Dipo, Someone from my office will be in contact with you to explore the possibilities of deploying this technology for use by our security agencies.” Jonathan wrote.

When THISDAY contacted him, an elated Daramola said that he has just finished talking to his research manager explaining further that the GPS gate, GPS trace, Google Maps on a mobile device are meant to trace the location of the mobile device.
He revealed that the other Nigerians on his team are, Adewale Adeyemo, Robert E Guinness and Oladeji Ikuesan all level two students of the same University.

He said their project managers are from United States and Finland adding that the project will examine Saterisk; the risks associated with satellite positioning technical, legal and use of connection viewpoints.
“The Saterisk project's goal is to produce a comprehensive inventory of satellite positioning, the risks of present and future. Another key objective of the project is to create a new hardware, services and training innovations.” he said.

Another chop make I chop post. So you are saying if a jetfighter were to drop bombs on ABA , Jonathief must not react until the governor has called the president and told him “Mr president we have just been bombed by an unidentified aircraft” ?

Or are you saying that if an earthquake was to happen in ABA (god forbid) and kill over 100,000. Mr Jonathief must not bother himself until the Governor and his state’s security personnel has notified him?

So you are so proud of your president and your country? I wonder under the current circumstances and reality was is there to be proud of. You are disillusioned my friend. This has nothing to do with your federal system crap but more about leadership. A good leader will respond immediately to protect his citizens not wait for some bureaucratic  bullshxt.

we are all reaping the whirlwind of your precious mend and gej's vampire party

Don’t mind him he has run out excuses. He thinks we don't know that his master belongs to the same mafia that is ruining our great country.

Beaf:

Swindlers and other loud and empty people like yourself always find ways to lie. You're only proving further that you are a fool and your brain probably fell out your ear, cos its got to be that tiny. What part of the words below don't seem abusive to you?

I stress again, that I am neither of the same ethnicity as Jonathan, nor am I from his state. If you can't see what is insulting in your words, you are truly lost and gutter bred.

Wow take it easy dude ,don’t give your high blood pressure.Ain’t you from ND ? Or you want to claim to be IBO or Yoruba now.I know you are going to say ND is not a tribe. Whatever ! tell that to the nuns.when you are calling for an ND republic ,you are one tribe but when you are referred to as jonathief’s  tribesman ,you throw a fit best suited for kindergarten kids. I am not even going to go into the definition of an insult with you because obviously your education is flawed. We all know that you love that commander in thief because he is an ND thug not a reputable leader. He was not elected , he came in to power by pure luck.He is a weak sneaky leader at best who prefers to kiss azz to get ahead in his political career, nothing to write home about.

Gekko:

Kidnapping was once a booming business in Colombia but all of that has been turned around drastically. Perhaps, there is much our govt can learn from Colombia.

Thank you very much ,please enlighten that olodo beaf .Hugo Chavez of venezuela is another good example,he  is a real leader and a peoples man.Jonathan on the other hand is an errand boy.The power mafia tells him when to cough. He lacks any integrity ,charisma or self esteem. All he cares about is money.Chop make i chop is the unofficial motto of the People’s deceiving party (PDP).Don't get your hopes up about Jonathief learning from great minds like Chavez. He will rather prefer to learn from the likes of IDI amin and babangida.

I can't even believe it that Beaf will denounce GEJ. Things are getting really interesting. Where are the rest of GEJ's political jobbers?
Playmode & OYB, kudos to you guys. Obj declared state of emergency in Ekiti state for corruption allegation against Fayose, yet after all these killings, maiming, kidnapping and abominations in Abia state our holier than thou GEJ has not even said a word. Going by one of his cronies above, he's still awaiting briefing.

I guess by now, sane Nigerians would have realized GEJ is only out for himself and himself alone!

Whatever happened to the intelligence services or the sss if the useless police are failures. These are known individuals causing so much pains to innocent people of Abia. They should be taken out one by one even extra judicially.

When the wise and the righteous refuse to come out to vote and to be voted for, the fools and the wicked will do, and when they get there, they will make wicked foolish laws that will be obeyed by all including the wise. Abia was ruled by one Kalu and his mother, he handed over to another Kalu. Hopefully, by 2011, we are expecting to have another Kalu, and the end will be worse than the beggining.
