This is a true-life story of what happened to a family in Rivers State. It was related to me by a friend, who did a medical elective in the hospital where the family was being treated.
Armed robbers attacked a family of four: the parents, their son (a student in an American university, on holiday in Nigeria), and daughter (a secondary school student in Nigeria). They stripped the mother and told the boy to rape her, and to show him how he was to go about doing it, they raped his sister. The boy refused to rape his mom, so the robbers started to shoot the father from his leg upwards. The boy continued to refuse till his father was killed, then the robbers turned to his sister and started shooting at her legs. Around this point, the mother fainted. After a while, the robbers left the house and the mother and sister were rushed to the hospital. The mother had gone into a coma, and the sister's legs were paralyzed. The boy left the country the next day without visiting his mom and sister in the hospital. The hospital later tried to contact the boy to make him come and visit his family, but they found out that he didn't return to the school. The mother eventually died.
Who do you think went through more trauma, and why do you think so? do you think the boy's attitude was justified?

What a question@GL. Did you expect the boy to oblige to the dishonorable request of the robbers? He choosed the high road, "death before dishonor". As for the robbers, the saying, "There is no honor among thieves' could not ring truer to their debased actions.

the boy went through more drama and who knows maybe he's commited suicide already! He probably feels he's the cause of the whole drama. If he had done his momma, his sista wouldnt have been raped, his father wouldnt have been shot, his mom wouldnt have gone into a coma,

hi everyone, i'm new here. i did an elective in that hospital and saw the girl and felt i had to come to say something about it.
i think d girl went through d worst, because she was really too tender for such kind of trauma.this is a girl of about 14,i think d girl went through d worst trauma.a couple of friends said d boy went through the worst but i really don't agree with this.besides the boy's presence would only but help this girl from her situation. i saw this girl with legs badly damaged, i think experience is the best teacher or what do you think?

"The heart of man is so wicked, who can know it?" Why won't robbers just take the money and leave? I don't even know what to say concerning this - I just pray that God, who heals all wounds, would heal that poor 14 year old girl and God, who is the God of vengeance, would pay those people back in their own coin.

men like him are difficult to find in this world. But I think this issue goes beyond robbery, it looks like cultists going on a revenge mission. I am just thinking aloud
