Project:antivirus Program

Nairaland gurus please i need help with a project i was given about computer security,antivirus and at d end of it write a simple antivirus algorithm, a small program using any language of my choice to scan and recognize virus signatures.plsssssss i am in need of  urgent help. Did some research on my own but still not enough.
