That's outrageous for the summer, especially from NY! Check orbitz, airgorilla, and airline consolidators. I have never paid more than $1300 from Chicago to Lagos. And, that $1300 was BA. I paid $720 on Iberia in April 2005. So, look very well. The NY route should be a little cheaper than the Chicago route. You are right the price sound outrageous $1800 but I can’t seem to find ticket cheaper than that. Emirates is $1,880 from NY JFK and I searched it through www.cheaptickets.com and am looking for another website to search for another cheaper tickets. |

Absolutely! I have used them once. Their prices should be similar to what you will get on airlineconsolidators.com, and a little cheaper than what you will get on orbitz. They are one of the very few online travel sites that understand Nigeria's airport codes. i.e. LOS for lagos. It's legit all the way. I actually prefer them to most of the other sites. @bossman/ others have u used Air-Gorilla.com before? their prices are so much cheaper than the others, just worried if it is a scam.

Bossman, i have a question for you, to get a cheap ticket, do i have to use a particular state? like go through chicago instead of BWI or ROC/LaGuadia? also do i have to buy my ticket months ahead to get a very good deal? like 2-3-4months prior? what is a good time to buy if am going in say christmas time or in early 2008? ha, make i ask oo, student not get money to spill thanks, will look out for your reply. |

No, yu do not have to depart from a particular state/airport. But, cities with bigger and busier airports (NY, Chicago, Boston, etc.) will give you more options.
Sometimes the earlier you buy the ticket the better. But that's not always true. The best thing to do is the shop around. Airline Consolidators, orbitz, air gorilla, The airline's website(BA.com for example), etc.
