my dvd ram stopped playing dvd rom this morning, i tried help and support and it says everything is ok, including the drivers. cd roms play normally. can anyone tell me how to i solve this problem

i'm assuming you're referring to video dvds.it's possible that you've changed your dvd's regional settings for the final time.original dvds are created for (i think) three markets US , Europe and asia. the way dvd drives are designed, theres a firmware setting that prevents a dvd drive on a us system from playing a european or asian original dvd, unless a setting is changed.this can only be done 4 times. a lot of people are not aware of this. you may be able to solve the problem with this app 'DVD region killer'. google it. you'll have to buy it though. you may also get more info from CDfreaks.com.cheers

i have downloaded the dvd region killer v2.5 but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. do u have any other suggestions

Your problem is that you need the problem software to play the American NTSC DVDs, the problem is not your DVD RAM so don't worry about it being a hardware failure. Just get new software, try WINDVD or POWERDVD
|
