Much as I appreciate the need for our banks to raise as much funds as possible from the capital market in order to be able to finance more high ticket projects especially in the oil and gas and telecoms sectors,I don't think Zenith bank's current move to come to the market will be attractive to new entrants into their stock family, maybe existing shareholders who may want to take advantage of the rights issue

I believe that as usual, this will be over-subscribed. Existing shareholders wanted even more allocation for rights issue.

Is it time to sell Wema shares and your reason please??
Well i can say it is fairly correct to assume that the stock will be gaining the max 5% until it goes on TS either this week or next week(from what i have heard) so you can sell gradually depending on the amount you are holding. Divide your holdings into two lots and issue a SELL instruction today or tomorrow and then issue another SELL instruction beginning of next week(i'm assuming it doesnt go TS this week) that way way you would have spread your bets and taken advantage of the swing The permutation above assumes the stock is going on TS this week or next week.

WEMA opened at N12.27 (another 5% upward swing)and you can bet it's not going to close lower !

That would depend on the price at the PO is offered. I would say if it comes out at ~N8(i wish!) then go for it if it is higher then i think that would be your call but at ~N8 i would make a BUY call. All said and done the final decision is yours

The conventional thinking is that you can sell some now before it goes on TS and hold the remaining till when TS is lifted and wait till when the price climbs higher than when it went on TS at least you don't need to wait for any cert that way you take advantage of the post-suspension bull run. You spread bet you outlay and take advantage of both cycles pre and post suspension bull run(excuse the the pun!) Going forward if you believe WEMA holds value (i do) you can offload all or part of your holding and go in for the PO if and i repeat if the PO is ~N8 so that way you would have funded your acquisition of WEMA shares with the realised profit from the sale of your holdings and you can use some of your original capital to look for the next BIG THING I'm sure we are looking at N13 before the end of the week that is what easimoni is waiting for well you havent got long to go!

Why don't you sell some of your WEMA shares(depends on how much you are holding) and plough it back into the PO and use your uncommitted capital to buy into some other opportunities. Diamond and bank PHB(personally my favorite) are coming to the market soon!

ACCESS get as he be. I bought the stock in 04 when it was N1.95 i think. They did a share reconstruction(reverse split) and all what nots. I don't like the capital structure there are lots of convertible debt instruments and and bonds which means if the holders of these instruments decide to convert them to ordinary shares we are talking massive dilution here. I'm just waiting for price to cross the psychologically important N20 mark before i bail out. I'm not particularly enamoured with bank jare i bought the shares because a dear colleague was working there at the time(i'm praying for him now) and it was ridiculously cheap but then who sabi ACCESS bank then

Yep out in a few weeks if not days. You can take the risk and buy on the floor N25 i'm looking at N35-40 in 6-12 months So the call is yours to make

POINT TAKEN. THANKS
I WILL BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THE BANK PHB PO. I JUST HOPE IT WON'T TAKE FOREVER FOR ALLOCATION AND VERIFICATION TO HAPPEN. IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO GET ON THE FLOOR BUT WILL ASK BROKER TO CHECK FOR ME.
I'M BUYING CUTIX SOON AS WEL. ITS CONSISTENTLY POSTED PROFITS FOR ABOUT 5YRS IN A ROW NOW AND HAS RECENTLY DONE A 1:1 OFFER AND PRICE NOW DROPED TO N8 RANGE. ANY GISTS OR THOUGHTS ON THEM

Yaa i remember talking about this stock on this or the other thread a while a go i think in my estimation its a bit late now to enter the fray. The share price jumped from N5 to N23 sometime in May and now it's about N8 so not sure if there's any more room to manoeuvre

I don't think it will be worth the effort. You are looking at 2 weeks before the closure and personally I don't expect a gain beyond 10% if it even goes that high. The results were not fantastic and though the bonus offer is stimulating, this has been know for about 2 weeks and the stock never really rallied.

Yep,it didn't really rally, but for a bank that has very strong corporate governance, not too bad financial strength and a growth projection of over 20% within 12 months, added to regular bonus issue and reasonably regular dividend payment,I think Union bank is good, especially in the long term

I think it's a bit late to jump on the ACCESS bank bandwagon now. Those that bought some years ago have gained over 1000%(reconstruction or no reconstruction),even those that bought during the last P.O can still sell @ over 30% profit when the stock attains its early 20s(which is the price I don't expect it to be less than by the time the certificates are out). On the other hand, towing the line of Roughcut, you may wish to buy either/or both of Wema and bank PHB,when they hit the market with their P.Os.Personally,I've got Costain(rights issue) and PHB(P.O)locked and within my firing range, finger on the trigger

Please, Can anyone advise me on Fidelity offer, I don't know what the house feels about it. I've heard so much about reconstruction after the public offer. Does any one know what effect this is likely to have on the share price? Considering the volume of shares they are selling, I feel their EPS might go down if they don't compete well with others.

Everyday we go off to work trying to make a better life for ourselves and families (i.e. if you are married). As commendable as that is, it would mean virtually nothing at all if we are not ACTIVELY planning our latter years along the way. We must not just work to keep up appearances of wealth but create a legacy of real wealth that will carry us through our later years. A lot of us probably invest in shares and stocks; but have we thought about real estate- really owning a genuine piece of property with the option of mortgage to build it at rates as low as 6%? Guess it sounds too far-fetched. Well not anymore! In the fifth estate my company is selling at Ofada- a pivotal location of the on-going Lagos/Ogun Megacity project, i offer you an opportunity to become a land-owner first and a building owner after you have finished paying for your land; perhaps through the option of mortgage or pay-as-you-go building pattern. PRIME ESTATE Phase 2 kickes off at just N24, 000 every month for 15months! you will make money by speculating with this land just like stock trading Key Points. Genuine land-Global C of O No Omo-onile antics and wahala. An estate with a perimeter wall, earth road etc as facilities. What you don't know might end up hurting YOU- and like i love to add, i am too christian to not be straight.
Call any of the numbers below or simpy send a reply- I'm simply asking that you join countless bankers, MTN staff, Glo and Celtel staff including civil servants who can boast of owning real estate in either Golden Heritage, Prime Estate phase 1 and/or Wisdom Estate, Ibafo.
