What is wrong with piercing?
What is right with not piercing?

I see this as a non issue. Not even worthy of discussion amongst matured minds.

The problem is that it's permanent.  Once you deform your nose with a piercing, you won't be able to fix it when you come back to your senses.

You can get ur pre-pierced nose back with "scar revision". Cosmetic surgeons do it.

this kind question  Grin<<<<<< my emotion wasnt really like that

anywho, there is nothing wrong with piercing. i don't think someone decides to pierce his or her body for the sake of fashion. i mean its not for them to make a fashion statement.

the scars of a piercing is not permanent. my belly button is pierced, i used to have a belly button ring, i took it out because a lot of people assumed some stuff.

the only thing i can attribute to piercings is that which each piercing comes a lot of stereotype. i think i have said that before.

@larger_20  you don't like women with nose piercings, thats very different. but why make a big deal about it. what about the guys that pierce their ears, nose, tongue

A girl can't have her nose pierced just in the name of "fashion" unless she really wants to have it pierced then she can! Smiley

I had my nose pierced some years back but I let it close up cause I got tired of it. You wouldnt even notice till I tell you cause the scare is almost none existent. Am going to go pierce it again when I go to KD cause I want to and cause I can. Its no big deal up north, its kind of part of the northern culture. Even local hausa women do it, so I don't think it has anything to do with going to America. Maybe that was when she felt like going ahead with it.

Are you against nose piercing only or piercing in general?

i don't think nose peircing has ever been a fashion trend, fashion definitely shouldn't be an excuse for 'mutation'.

"mutation"? You must mean mutilation, yeah? Well, as long as am mutilating myself I don't think anyone should fret about it. Nose piercing has been a fashion trend in the north even before I was born, you can make enquiries and you'll find that out. Fulani and women from the far north here in Niaja don't consider nose piercing a big deal. Infact my professor in university(a female from maiduguri) had two nose piercings. Its no big deal!

yeah i meant mutilation, didnt even read through.
I grew up in the north, so i know about the women piercing their noses thank u. but the way i see it, its some sort of unwritten trend in their culture and is in no way frowned upon. so for a northerner to peirce her nose, obviously she can't come up and say its in fashion now. hope u get my point now.

It's okay for anyone to pierce anywhere. Ur clit, ears, nose, eyelids, chin, lip, tongue. If you are a guy and you don't like a girl that has piercings in places you don't like. Don't date her.

Hey, I read it all and can only deduct from what people are saying..I don't really feel like argueing on this topic because i can see the positive and negative sides to it. Anything controversial is controversial. Period. It is a matter of choice..like i said in my first post. I personally don't find them attractive. one mans food is another mans poison...

i think piercing is kind@ seggzy on some guys and girls so yes it's ok for a Nigerian girl to pierce her nose, it's her life and her choice. me for one thing will not pierce my nose though because my sweet mother will not find it funny one bit. you know how Nigerian parents are, they always wann@ raise up their kids culturally and morally right despite what part of the world they live in and i respect them for that although sometimes they take it to the next level.

Exactly, as with many things in life, if you don't like the looks of it then keep off and let the girl do her thing jo!

I personally find guys with pierced nose/lower lip attractive. . . The question is whether I find them attractive enough to date them.

of course its ok, i have one and i love it ooh hmm Wink Wink

i remeber, when i was in naija dec. 2003, a lady came to me in church and said she thinks i should take it off, because it wasn't christian-like and i could put it back when i got to Norway

i was like WTF Angry Angry , why would i take it out because someone else thinks so?? isn't it whatever floats my boat??
between if i use it in Norway and then take it off in Nigeria just to pretend, doesnt that make me a hypocrite??

well i love it, see nothing wrong with it, so . .

nigerians and their mentality lool
its up to u if u pierce your nose. it is just the way some nigerians have been brought up the way they think is a bit different because they see people who pierce their nose as a bit "loose" and also boys who pierce their ears they have this sterotypical thinking of them because probablly those in nigeria who do pierce their bodies r seen to be "loose people" but in the western world no one really cares or judges u if u pierce your nose or not , its just up to you if you want to pierce any part of ur body as long as it is moderate and it suits you and you like it, after all its ur life and it is not against the rules of God,   at least we shuld consider God in what we do and not take a piss
