JobVacancies Nigeria is a company that prides itself in being a revolutionary Human Resources Company that is set to change the face of the industry in Nigeria. The Company promotes www..com which was created to provide online, real time job information provision for prospective job seekers without the usual hitches that come with job information provision. This is to provide a platform for jobseeker and job givers to meet without time loss and unnecessary human influence which is a major factor affecting the recruitment process in our economy.
Visage Complements is a niche-playing communications and market research firm that specialises in undertaking image/perception study and management on behalf of its clients, conduct ad-hoc studies on diverse markets, counsel on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and also organise corporate events with a touch of professionalism and class.
JobVacancies and Visage Complements have teamed up to conduct the first ever JVN Job/Career Seekers forum. This comes about as a result of the synergy between both companies in the areas of Human Capital Development and Marketing /Events planning. This programme was developed after a careful study into the seemingly intractable problem of unemployment especially amongst youths and jobseekers in Nigeria. Unemployment in Nigeria is a very burning concern in the polity, Nigeria in the last five years has attracted enormous direct foreign investments into her economy in a variety of ways and ordinarily this should lead to employment in the country but this is not the case. We have therefore decided to contribute our own little quota in tackling some of the issues on why people don’t get their desired jobs.
This job/career seekers forum is intended for individuals who are presently searching for jobs, for those who are not satisfied with their present jobs, those who want to identify a career path and those who are presently in the Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education who desire to know the rudiments of successful job hunting.
The question now beckons, what is in it for the participants of this forum? JVN Job/Career Seekers forum would be critical for job search success-whether job-seekers use them to get an internship or job, or whether job-seekers use them as a networking tool. We hope participants will make the most of the experience from learning first hand from Senior Human Resource Faculties from blue chip organisations who will reveal the secrets of successful job hunting and career building. The Speakers at this forum will dwell extensively on topics like Your Resume-Selling yourself, how to Job-Hunt, and the effects of Information Technology on the recruitment process. Speakers will also enlighten participants on having the right attitude when writing tests and at interviews and most especially the things employers look out for during the recruitment process. Speakers will hold presentations to give you a more in-depth knowledge of their organization, strategy and the kind of individuals they are looking for.
Another critical aspect of recruitment that will be looked at would be Psychometric tests which have been identified as the future of recruitment testing. Psychometric tests provide a standardized (i.e. rigorously developed and applied) form of assessment and can measure a wide range of attributes, such as dexterity, literacy, numeric and specific abilities such as verbal, numerical, abstract, spacial or mechanical reasoning. These tests, when professionally developed and used, have consistently shown to be a very objective and accurate method of selection. They can also provide high quality specific information on each candidate, and when used in an assessment centre context they extend the overall picture of a candidate. (Participants attending this forum will have in addition to copies of the lecture slides of the faculties, sample interview questions and answers, sample aptitude and Gmat questions and  sample psychometric test questions.) Participants will also have the opportunity to find out a bit more information about employers, working life and general industry information, the opportunity also exists for job seekers to use the brief minutes they have with employers to create a good and lasting impression. This is because employers and recruiters tend to send human resource personnel to forums like this to either weed out unsuitable candidates or pick out some young potential from the crowd. We hope this opportunity will go a long way in answering some of the niggling issues surrounding job hunting.
