Nigerians Living Abroad
« on: May 10, 2007, 07:55 AM »

Oh my home, when shall i see my home, when shall i see my native home, i will never forget Naija.

Nigerians living abroad, write about what you miss in naija. Naija is blessed, but many Nigerians abroad deny the fact they are Nigerians, but at least we should be proud here in Nairaland.

LOL

My brother, person miss a lot of things man, miss the feeling of being home and around your people, miss the feeling of being who you are without being made to feel like a stranger in some other people's country.Miss the way you'D come home to have a get together, the companionship, the general lifestyle that you're used to.But,hey, that's just what one has got to live with. It's kind of hard, but like they say,you gotta do it.

miss grandparents (hope they don't die before I see them!), miss cousins, aunts, nephews and nieces. Miss FOOOOOD! I have a looooong list of things I must eat when I go to Nigeria; pounded yam, yam, fura, kunu, danwake, fufu, kulikuli, awusa, boli, donkunu (not Nigerian food but still), agbado (those grilled corn cobs),,,,and lots more! Miss the events; someone is always having a wedding, naming ceremony, birthday, house-warming, whatever! miss the sheer freedom. Miss that special feeling that you are HOME, that the soil you are walking on belongs as much to you as to everybody else, that you are among your people. Miss the bustle of the streets,,,the busy-ness, the noise, the ubiquitous music, etc.

man, Nigeria rocks! Home is the best, o! I want to go this summer!! but I can't Sad

Can't go because parents said so. It's their money that's going to pay for the ticket afterall. You just reminded me of SUYA!! I swear I can almost taste it!

Nigeria used to be ma home but not anymore.  It is a place I just visit--Can never be ma home anymore and a sure do not miss it!  Do not miss anything abourrrrrrrrrrrrrrit!  I actually hate the place because I have lost too many relatives over there.  It is just a cemetary where I go to bury people! Kiss

Thank you and better luck next time. Kiss

I miss the stinking body odors of people even though it makes me want to vomit most of the time

My friends, some families member that still lives there, food, loudness of people, there are so much fun things to do in Naija, as far you have money because life there will be much easy but am sorry oh I CAN NOT LIVE THERE, but don’t mind visiting every year, maybe for 3wks to 1month but I can not stay there for long.
