Photography Lovers In The House
« on: January 17, 2006, 02:33 PM »

Sometimes, i see photos that make me rethink about my choice of career. I just fall in love with photgraphy. Do u feel the same?
Any photographers in the house to tell us 1 or 2 things about photography?

@Seun. Good question! Infact all Nigerian so-called porn is usually a pitifully failed attempt - EG, Nollywood actors - the guys freak me out with their pathetic unreal kissing and lovemaking! CRAP.

@Seun, can you define your idea of porn?

Maybe to you, a picture at the beach or in Bikini at the pool, or a picture of you holding your girfriend is porn? Please explain what is so porn about the pics.

, reminds me a a lot about sometimes back when every trouser wearing lady was looked down upon as ashawo.

please don mind seun oh, hes just trying to incite some drama

lovely pics, tho in the last one, i felt a more form fitting attire for the lady would have been nice, because the bunchiness of her bikini or whatever spoils the lines of her body and hence somewhat mars the pic

Black and White Photography
does more to evoke an emotion and freeze a
moment in time than any other medium.

Emotions are always much easier to portray
with Black and White, because of the stark contrasts
and the sharp focus on the subject.

Black and white photography is different.
It is about textures and emotions,
light and the absence of light.

There is a huge difference between pornography and Erotica. The displayed first picture depicts a template for human beauty expressed in photography. If you are real true lover of photography you would know better.

Erotica (from the Greek language Eros - "love") — are works of art, including literature, photography, film, sculpture and painting, that deal substantively with erotically stimulating or arousing descriptions. Erotica is rather a modern word used to describe the portrayal of human sensuality and sexuality with high-art aspirations, differentiating such work from commercial pornography.

those first set of pictures suck!
erotic my foot! the "seaside" and "waterfall" pics give off far more by way of erotic-calling than that set.

why didn't they go full nude hm? i'm going to have to agree with Mr Seun here.

the art of capturing the motions of the human(body) have been around a long time and if that group (photo-artist and his models inclusive) decide they mean to re-capture (and perhaps depict in Nigeria/Afriacan tones) the beauty of the human form and (e)motions then they had better get back to school and learn to do it right.

erotic - pah!
