Nigerian Institute of Management Young Manager's Competition
« on: June 21, 2005, 06:20 PM »

The "Young Managers' Competition" is an annual event of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the organization which regulates and controls the profession of management in all its aspects and ramifications.  It was launched in 1974!

Information on Young Managers' Competition 2005 is sparse, but:

- I gather that it's open to practising manegers within 'the age range'.

- lnterested applicants need to fill the application form, which is available in the June 16 2005 edition of the Guardian Newspaper.

- Entries must be accompanied by a fee of 2,000 naira, payable into the bak account of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

- The first prize (for the national winner) includes a brand new car, 40,000 naira, a certificate, and a one week NIM management training course of the winner's choice.

- The second prize (for the national runner-up) includes a laptop computer, 30,000 naira, a certificate, and one week NIM management training of the winners' choice.

- The third prize (for the national second runner-up) includes a desktop computer, 20,000 naira plus the certificate.

- The 4th, 5th and 6th places contestants on the national level will win consolation prizes of 10,000 naira each.

- The 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed contestant in each zone will win 30,000 naira, 20,000 naira and 10,000 naira respectively plus a certificate.

- Contestants will be writing on the following subject areas in relation to the Nigerian Context - Sales and Marketing, Production Management, Human resource Management, Logistics, Management Information Systems, Cost and Management Accounting, Financial Management, Environment Health Safety and Social Responsibility.

- Contestants will submit 7 copies of their paper (typed doublespace on A4 paper), an abstract of the paper (ot more than 350 words), a brief Curriculum Vitae of the contestant, two passport photographs, a birth certificate or statutory declaration of age of the contestant.
