You see when they start playing Naija or even African music the people come alive. There's nothing I hate more than going to a Naija party and hearing akata music. This is coming from some one who loves Motown and even a bit of rap

Lol, i never been to one. I thought d one held last year was at DC. That's too far, so i couldn't go. New york is closer. I would have went if i knew. the real naija independence day parade is in new york, but they have one in baltimore( a couple of miles from dc) but its not for naija indenpence. they just call it naija day and its a bit smaller than the one in ny because we don't have a parade. its just at a park and they have performances and things like that. however, in dc, we have have this thing called the carribean festival and they have a parade that blocks off the whole street. it last 3 days like the naija one in ny. but you know the africans around don't' want to be left out so they go and take over with their makossa music and dance. we even had our own african float last year called africarnival at the caribbean parade. you mostly see nigerians their with their their flags and outfits and all these other carribean people be like, what country is that and you know we had to tell them. http://africarnival.com
