Rhythmical Arrangement Of Poetry (rap)
« on: January 21, 2006, 12:25 AM »

Rap has metamophosed over the years. We've seen differents styles of RAP from Tupac, Snoog Dogg, Nelly and recently Twista.

What style are u down with and who is your favorite RAP artist?

Rap has metamophosed over the years just as you said layi, both in style and message. From simple issues like "playing basket Ball (Curtis glow) to  getting paid in full (Rakim)  to Brenda having a baby (pac) and then 50Ty getting rich or die trying.

just this morning, i was thinking the very same thing as i watched  the video ( fight the power)chuck D, flavor fee and Terminator X aka Public Enemy ,  for me i think the best era was the late 80s and early 90s.. we saw a lot of ingenuity in hiphop, with folks like,  chubb rock, Eric b and rakim,Robb base, cool mo Dee, MC lyte DE la soul,  king and I,Dogg e fresh, Danny dane, digital underground, krs one and in the 90s.. it just got better with Pete rock and cl smooth, ghetto boys, scarface, tribe called quest, house of pain,3rd bass, Epmd,Wu tang clan, souls of mischief, daz efx, Fu shinckens, pac &Bigg, busta, gangstar the list is endless

I think these days its all about, the Blin..Blin!!!,sex,guns,gangs,  and the ever too talked about beef thing..

So layi its really a tough question for any hiphop head to pick a particular style and Artist.  Been trying to pick one ,but i just can't seem to think who . But if you question, was like, How many, will you list as the best rap artists of all times my list will be some thing like this

Run  Dmc
rakim
LL cool jay
Pac
Bigg
pete rock and cl smooth
Q tip and The 5 footer
jayzee
krs one
latifah
red man
method man
nas
Erick sermon
DA la soul
naughty by nature
Dre
snoop
mc lyte
salt and pepper
easy e
ice cube
ice Tee
the game
kanye
slim shaddy
will smith
the roots
common
i  think this list is getting too long, but men! this guys make it into my Hall of fame of rap anyday any time..
If i must and i should, my naija peep i will add to that list is, The tribes men...  them boys sure can ... They have got the real hiphop spirit.
