Is President Obasanjo going?

SIR: Our out-going President has continued to confirm fears and speculations about his desire to continue controlling our nation even after his exit date of May 29, 2007. The in-coming administration will no doubt bear the "Voice of Jacob" and possess the arms of "Esau."

Or how else should one understand the comments of an out-going President who over the weekend threatened to privatise the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company in the next 12 months if not properly managed? Does that not imply the President's desire to hold on to power even after the end of his reign?

Well, time will tell how far he can go because power is transient and no matter how hard he tries to hold on to it, he must still go.
