first set 3-3. Both players are not playing to their potentials yet, its not good to have 2 close friends play each other in a grandslam QF.

congrats viee! let's see how the SF goes.

No contest! Nadal cruised past Moya (6-4, 6-3, 6-0) to set up a SF clash with Djokovic, who had earlier dismissed Andreev in straight sets too (6-3, 6-3, 6-3).  Seems both guys decided to save some energy for Friday's match.

If you ask me, all four semi-finalists are capable of winning the French.

I ain't going to boast about who's going to win the french open thats the men but I pick Nadal as the favorite to retain his title. The women's title all boils down to form, if Maria can be at her best then I feel she'll have a good chance in winning it. Justin is the favorite but watch out for Jankovic she's good.

Djokovic has spent the most part of this tournament telling us he is good enough to challenge Federer and Nadal for the top two spots, lets see him do it with his racket and less with his mouth.

Sharapova has no chance of winning the FO. Shrieking and bad sportsmanship does not take you anywhere. Justin or Jankovic for the womens title.

My sentiments too. I have this resentment towards players who yap alot (and those who don't give credit to their opponents).  Listen to Federer's post-match interviews and you'll see the greatness in him.

I just hope Djokovic lives up to his blabbings.  Otherwise, he should keep his thoughts to himself and learn to talk like the great players.  He's said so much in the past and has failed to deliver.

Even though Serena delivers more, she should also learn to respect her opponents the more. Imagine her saying "All she had to do was show up" referring to Henin in her interview after the QF match.

As for Sharapova, I'm sure Ivanovic will teach her some lessons.  But the eventual winner of the tournament is between Jankovic and Henin.

That is probably why more people like Rafa, he hardly talks but he's an absolute horror to play against on court with his heavy topspins.
Djokovic nearly lost his game to Olivier Patience ranked 129!
He is yet to play ANY top 50 player this tournament. The real danger all along for Nadal remains a fit Davydenko. An over-confident Federer is all Rafa needs to clinch his third straight FO title.

Serena should choose between Tennis and entertainment. You can't do both and win at the same time. Henin is a perfect example of what focus + talent can achieve. Ivanovic to win - she's the finest female left!  Tongue Away with Shriekapova!

If Federer manages to beat Davydenko convincingly, I will be relaxed to watch/follow the final.  Grin

Djokovic will also be Rafa's first tough opponent in this tournament too, well apart from Hewitt.  I expect Nadal to win of course, but I want Djokovic to leave him drained.

If the williams sisters wont stay focused on tennis then they should yield to the younger more hungry players. Its sad to see women with so much talent and potential losing out in third rounds and quarterfinals of grand slams to inferior players.

The sad thing is American tennis will be the poorer for it.

Sharapova seems to find it hard to cope with big-hitters like herself.

The Serbs are having a nice run at France. Three Serbs got to the semi-final, one has progressed into the final, will the other two follow suit?

At their best Jankovic, Sharapova etc cannot hold a candle up to the Williams sisters. Henin is a fantastic player despite her size and is perhaps the only challenge for them. Was Sharapova not world number 1 as early as January this yr and she can't even beat a 19yr old Ivanovic. What a shame.

That flogging is a signal that my day is going to be a good one.  Grin

The serbs have tried. I can't see jankovic beating Henin neither will Djokovic pose any problems for Nadal.

Sharapova is just not good enough for a top player. Alll noise! She's been poor for most of her games and escaped defeat at least twice. Today she finally snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Looking like Henin's going to win on the female side ! i particularly liked the way she sent serena scampering all around center court & she really held serve well ,  she's got real depth in her game !

Well evrybody likes a fairy-tale ending but i fear this ain't going to be one 4 Ivanovic; its her first Grand Slam Final --- she did pretty well against Sharapova; however, i feel Sharapova was never in tip-top shape for this tourney + she's never really been at home on clay.
Ivanovic moved about well on center court and was very strong from the baseline; very, very aggresive too, but can she do more of this against Henin ? has she got the stamina ? because that will definitely be more of a match-up than this one-sided affair !
Henin at the moment is about 2 steps ahead of the game --- i'm thinking, lets just make it 4 French Open titles in her name & 3 on the trot because she's definitely got this one in the bag unless >>>>>>>

that has been the story of the french open this year, some of the top players have failed to be at their best when it mattered most, Serena and Maria for example. I feel Serena at the quater finals was awful none of her shots were going in and she became frustrated by this almost destroying her racket.

yeah, but it does the job and mind you Henin plays with much brute and force too only she doesn't scream when hitting the ball.
