I have met many people who don't like the book, but I find it one of the most satisfying reads ever. the comedy is absolutely glorious, very complex but intriguingly so, and it offers an insight into the lives of  an idealistic generation in the immediate post colonial era, especially the returnees from abroad.

For all this I have to say it is the best book I have read by a Nigerian(Anthills of the Savannah runs a close second) if not by any one.
