well, i believe it all depends on your relationship with him. if you are really in good communication with him, you will know when he is speaking to you. let me tell you a little story. if i could remember it was last year. i went to a vigil and that was one of the vigil that i really prayed for answers. when i got home i found out where i was staying the gate was locked for sanitary purposes and i don't want to be part of it considering am just coming back from a vigil.
i decided to take a walk under the bridge pending when it will be over. as i was standing there, something was urging me to find a place to seat and started to look around just to find where i could rest for a while. i decide to cross the road and seat inside the round about, not mending the soldiers guiding their gate that are looking at me.
just few minutes that i sat down there, guess what happened. this hug tippers that are often use for sands and it was carrying sands at that time, lost it break from another lane, cross over to the next and guess where it was heading too? directly where i was standing initially and narrowly miss one of the pilers of the bridge and the driver was smart enough to still hold the wheel and ran it on a rough soil for it to stop.
had it been i did not hear the voice inside of me to seat down and rest, i would have meet papa God unprepared. so, every thing depends on our closeness with God, our maker.

Just listen to the small still voice inside you it sure works for me when in doubt or confusion i just sit down close my eyes and ask any question and then listen to the small voice that anserws me back though i must confess sometimes it tells me to work things out myself. For years it worked for me i could know my results in exam and i tell my siblings what to expect when they are nervous about something and then it happens now they told me not to tell them anything again because it kills the fun. Also in your dreams but you have to be pure to have the real thing because the moment you fall into sin the voice and the dream wont give correct anserws you will know this because what you dream about wont come to pass and the small voicewont say the truth no more.

god is everywhere and he sees every one. his voice is distinct and it cannot be missed. however, in my vast experience, i know God has a british accent. he sounds like a cross of Samuel L. Jackson and Pierce Brosnan. Somtimes, especially in the summer he may get a bit goofy and take on a jamo accent but you can easily see through it. watch out for irish and american accents though, that could be the devil and if it is a naija accent then you know it the babalawo calling your head (yourba english) put your ipod to the highest level and don't answer.

God does speak today in many ways.
1. The Bible is the surest way - however, it can be difficult, you are a witness! But a good Bible class that reveals God's principles to you is God speaking. It grows over time and eventually, you have a lot of things you know God has told you.
2. Your conscience witnesses to what God is telling you. God didn't write in the Bible that you should work in a bank or do business but such details of life he helps us with by our conscience.
3. Peace. When we are about to do something that He is leading us to, we experience peace. Yes, those who never listen to Him have peace with evil as well, so be careful.
4. Circumstances often tell us what God is saying now. If you are desperate to hear a voice, Satan is ever-willing to talk to you. God doesn't speak like that a lot because we are to live by faith. Believing the Bible is great faith.
When we can't change circumstances, we can accept them as His will for us.
