i just had an offer 2 study marine engineering but i also have an option 2 study offshore eng but the fees for offshore is quite high, i want 2 find if there can be any kind of link between marine eng and the oil and gas sector

go 4 offshore. there's loads of jobs these days. which univ are u going?

i'm going 2 the university of greenwich!
i know there r loads of opportunities in the offshore sector!
i was just asking if there is any link between marine eng and the oil and gas sector

not much link between them, except for vessel construction, vessel installation works etc, offshore engr is still better suited to the ones i mentioned.

if oil sectore is ur interest, then do offhsore engr, if it is marine, then do marine engr

the idea is to do something diverse

whats ur bachelors?

did chemiical eng @ my undergrad level. i think thts diverse enough!

what are the possible prospects in marine engineering?

my advise is that u do offshore engr, try schs like newcastle and cranfield univ. i don't know about prospects in marine engr, i oonly know about offshore engr
