Hey amena, welcome to the club!! I'm also an enthusiast!! i posted a similar thread here: http://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=38689.msg860390#msg860390

(1) There's this Epson Academy in Bode Thomas, Surulere in Lagos where I reside.
(2) Also Check out http://www.shutterchance.com it's a photography blog you can join too. You'd be amazed at the volume of pixes and art skills there,
(3) You need a good camera if you don't have one already (possibly a digital SLR like Canon400D or Nikon D80 etc. - I have in stock for sale :-))
(4) You need to mix up more with pros and also do a lot of shooting and learning
(5) You can always drop your mail and i'd buzz u
(6) We'd soon come up with a photography club in lagos anytime from now. so keep in touch.
(7) Photography is BIG BIZ for those "who have eyes and can see"
(Cool You can also enroll in any of the New York Institute of Photography Courses (contact me for more information on this - i can mail the brochures to you)
(9) If you have the MONEY and you want to take your photography to the HEIGHTS in a place like NEW YORK, then plan to spend about $55,000 attending on of the most prestigous Photography Institutes in USA(Hallmark Institute of Photography) and change your life forever (http://www.hallmark.edu)
(10) LIVE YOUR PASSION!!!

Cheers,
