All My Files Open In Media Player Mode. please Help

Urgents plss, HELP!!! My syster did sometin on my Laptop
all my executable files are opening in media player mode.
word duc, setup files etc  after cliking on them open media player.

please help how can I do this. I am usning windows Vista.

Try right-clicking the filename u want to open,.

Select Properties.

Change the Open with option to the desirable if its not an application file. But as for the application file, i know not what to tell you am sorry, because i use a Windows Xp.

I have seen a case like this. This occurs when the file type association have been changed(manually
or via a virus' action). I got around this by editing some registry entries. A little hectic task.

On Windows vista, its been reported that "WINAce" causes this.(Still waiting on a hotfix from
Microsoft.

To fix this,
1. Check this link out:
FileType Association Fix
2. Perform a system restore to a point where everything was working fine. (It's too much for such
a trivial case. Use as a last resort only).
