, 300 NO GET SENSE, leonidis was just stubbornly stupidly stubborn, it was even turning to a superhero movie,
What would u rather Leonidis did? Surrender to Xerxes and be slaves to Satan Forever? So you'll brand him a coward? C'mon! Even the Queen preferred the war cos she knew the consequences of Surrendering. @ topic I've seen both movies, great movies they are but my pick is 300. The story is tight, pictures, cast,, everything. Before i watched the movie, i used to wonder what the saying "spartans died but never surrendered" meant. Now i know.  |

story is rubbish, if he waited for xerxes at sparta he wuld have defeated xerxes, with more than 300 men, he was lucky he found himself that valley,he n his 300 wuld have died like a small dog[kung pao], n

Gladiator is just simply brilliant and outstanding. Besides the movie won so much awards what did 300 win? was it even nominated for any category.simply put 300 was a bloc buster while gladiator is a classic.Long live MAXIMUS DESMUS MERIDIOIUS.Indeed a general of the felix legions of the north   |

For those who say leonidas was stubbornly stupid, Leonidas' job wasn't to win or survive, he was to stall the persian forces so that the rest of greece could assemble a unified army. The thermopylae pass was a strategic point for the Spartans and Arcadians. It kept the persians from being able to surround them, thus rendering the entire persian army to a series of waves. 300 was based off true events, while gladiator may be more cinematically(not a word) pleasing remember that it was not an account of real events, it's simply a greatly written historical fiction masterpeice. Plus the special effects are necessary, if 300 was just a documentary i doubt anyone would have gone to the movies to see it.
