What was supposed to be a night of celebration for Nigerians in Amsterdam, Holland, turned sour last week as 62 of them have been deported.
Saturday Champion gathered that the people had paid 20 euros each that Friday night to watch Nigeria’s foremost actor, Mr. Nkem Owoh, (aka Osuofia) perform in an event tagged "Osuofia show" at Grand Café, after which the police raided the venue with buses and arrested people without resident permits.
A member of the Nigerian community who pleaded anonymity told Saturday Champion that the Grand Café is owned by one of the Igbo businessmen in Holland.
According to him, it was wrong for the police to have raided the place, most especially considering the negative implication it will have on the owner of the café.
Our source however, said that the Nigerian embassy is yet to react to the development officially.
