My Dreams For Nigeria
« on: February 04, 2006, 03:15 AM »

I have a dream(i no be martin luther ooo) that one day
Every valley shall be exalted
Every will and mountain shall be made to low
The rough places will be made plain
And the crooked places will be made straight
And the glory of the God shall be revealed
And all flesh shall see it together.

This is my hope,
This is my faith,
We will be able to hew out of the
Mountain of despair, a stone of hope.

With this faith
We will be able to transform
The jangling discords of our nation
Into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood

With this faith
We will be able to work together
To pray together
To struggle together
To go to jail together
Knowing that we will be freed one day.

With this faith
We will be able to put an end
To religion violence, bad administration
Put an end to corruption, poverty, unemployment
And unanimously eliminate all the hungry politicians
Who are the main enemies of progress in Nigeria

With this faith
We will be able to have a true Federation
Where people from the North
Could be peacefully working and residing in South
Where people from South
Could be free from the fear of ethnic clash while in North
Where Nigerians will see themselves as one

With this faith
I am cock-sure, with gradual process
Nigerians shall all come together once again
And celebrate with cheers and thank God
After the elimination of all I-don't-care, corrupt and hungry politicians
So shall it be

That's why it is important to pray for your country and those who are in decision making positions.  Keep up the good work!

Prayer?  You better think of something tangible.  Prayer ko, prayer ni.  Even the bible says "faith without works is dead".

Do you honestly think that people aren't praying and having faith that things will change?  So do you feel that no one (absolutely no one) in authority is working towards change?  It is a process, you know?  Prayer does change things even if people don't feel as though it does.  Well, I don't know about you, but I pray for my country and the leaders that are in position.  In the end, God has the final word!

*Well, sorry I got off the topic*
My comments would be more appropriate posted in the religious section, but the Bible is something that I do not debate about.

Anyway, I was just commenting on the poem the way I saw fit Smiley  Sorry that you view it as not being a proper resolution.
