it is always good to ask questios during or b/4 d process of taking a job. there is always somthing like job discribtion if its smthing u can't do then u don't take d job, never act out of despiration because ure jobless because some employers might want to take advantage of u? ask 4 ur job discribtion if its not too late or simply tell them to get a cleaner but say it in a civil way so u don't get fired for been insurdordinate

Forward Ever Backward NEVER! when such demotion occurs, you need to check it out! Something is wrong somewhere, it's might be that you are not giving in your best as the Secretary. Hence, instead of the employer throwing you out, he'D decide to frustrate you till you find the way out yourself.
It happens, and it's an indirect way of telling people that "their services are no longer needed"

@ Poster,
Am sorry to ask, What is your qualification? and what is the structure of the company?
l know some one-man biz owners, instead of advertising for an office assistance or a sales girl, mistakenly categories them as SECRETARIES and advertise as same. This could be the problem where you are.
However, you have an option, to leave the job or continue with it.
Cheers.

Anyway, Am not surprised. If she likes secretarial profession, tell her to acquire a higher education from a university, polytechnic or college of education. Then she can apply for a job as a PROFESSIONAL SECRETARY, she will see a difference. However, she has to manage what she has now, since she doesnot have a higher certificate to attract a better job.
Cheers.

I think you need to find a new job, if you don't like the current one. Maybe he doesn't really need a secretary.
