i've read most of the post and i think these things are true on both sides.i have relatives abroad and it's difficult keeping in touch with them.sometimes they come in quietly home and go back quietly and you get to hear after they've gone and stuff like that.it hurts because these are people who are supposed to be real close to u.
But i believe it's because of family members who ar always at them for financial support and stuff. so i just pray for them when i can and send them mails once in a while.the point here is that nobody is perfect.funny enough,i more in touch with friends abroad than my family.

I wonder why we Nigerians never feel sorry for our brothers and sisters abroad. I mean these people abroad are mostly cab drivers and they do odd jobs. While we siddon in our air condictioned office, spare a thought for your brother abroad who is probably a "mai guard" or cab driver. For someone driving all night to send you the little they have is preposterous.
The reason Nigerians think people abroad make lots of money is because of the exchange rate. Now if you drive a taxi all night and few hours in the day you will make close to what they make in dollars. My point is if you work hard in Nigeria you'll make it, else go to America and clean oyinbo toilets, the choice is yours.

This issue is a double sided one. I think they are stingy in a way- but we have to consider that the cost of living outside is very high especially for foreigners. When you consider the amount such people use in processing visa or worst still - the risk they take to migrate illegally, you will see that its worth being stingy! |

guy i can help you. i have a friend at the british high commission abuja. his name is Mr Winterbottom . he'll help you with visa. u hear. tell him darfur sent you he wont fail me i be student from a poor african family all alone in the UK no papa no mama here.and i no be thief. anything wey i fit do to make ends meet i go do am (except stealing and drugs). i no de shame b/c i know say na temporary stuff. no be my career. i get enough qualifications from naija to get the kind job wey go fit pay me to come spend holidays for UK in the hotel wey u de dream of but i no get connection in high places for such jobs. so i came here. i de hussle, by the time i get british certificate, agenda go change. i de God side. nothing de happen i dey pay my house rent, tuition, trasport,clothes etc. no mama no papa. even sef i gas to pay for relaxation too u know what i meanclubs, drinks etc (thank God babes for here like to be financially independent. ) i get three jobs. na hussling. hoha. the tuition wey dey here, you no go fit pay am. so leave me alone. sogbo |
