@rapsody

u 've really travelled the country,  . . .i also schooled in kaduna (command secondary school, kakuri)lovely, lively town with peeps off all tribes but 'em religious ish scares me the hell out, been to abuja(lovely roads no hold-ups),jos(a beautiful place with lovely yankee kind of weather plus very friendly peeps),kano(over populated, but ish be happening  up thurr as per biz wise),bauchi(llovely suya meat with pretty yanrinya's)

as for yola . . .never been to a HOTTER PLACE IN MY LIFE,THE WEATHER IS KILLING MAN JUS TOO EXTRA EXTRA HOT,LIKE THE WHOLE CITY'S RIGHT ON-TOP OF HELL ITSELF . . .i served in adamawa state,in a local govt area called TOUNGO (4 hours away from yola), damn kid  . . .no lite,no network,no water,no hospital,no banks,no nothing but alot of bk if u know what i mean Wink . . .jus the hybrid a whole lot of  cattles, fulani"s peeps(them fulani gurls are the prettiest in nigeria but not educated) and nature's like i have never seen in my whole life . . . it makes u appreciate GOD the more. NO STRESS
NO HUSTLING NO POLLUTION JUST U AND NATURE AT ITS BEST(tend to hear gods voice more clearly u know) ,  . . . i kind of miss that joint . .

@HBRID-X
(chuckles) u can alwayz go back,U know! them cows can't wait to serve u a sip of that 'milkshake'.

U were right about d fulani gurlz though (gosh)! Those femalez have natural beauty, man (compared to the over-made up,i-badly-need-a-makeover,psychadelic,'omoge lagos' gurlz sashaying across my street, all day like they actually have a destination).

The north is very serene but the calm is a deceptive and dangerous one.I prefer the obvious madness of Lagos. That way iam always on guard!

I wouldnt trade the giddy excitement of lagos for a thousand fulani maidenz.I was custom built for the streets of Lagos.Though i bear the streetz a grudge for stealing a significant slice of our life-span stuck in traffic. But we still regulate! Lagos too much jooo!

(musing) when the itch gets 2 scratch, its funny hw emceez get all fidgety and avoid the gospel thread.Like krs 1 aptly put it"i study d wayz of G.O.D,u rather study gatz and titties". Anybody can battle but hw many can spit spiritual and still keep it tight lyrikal. Only a few though many are called.

Mic Check:

Gospel rap ressurrection/
gospel catz genuflecting/
falling flat in subjection/when the name of God is mentioned!

Unparalleled dimensions/of power get released/
each time we make music/to praise d King of Kings!

Haterz speak malice/and call it sik madness/
but can't deny d deep gladness/we express with a street accent!

Christocentric/our wayz be eccentric/
view life from God's angle/
far from the trigonometric!

No apologies 2 those/who find us offensive/there's no remorse wt d flow/please be more pensive/we only grind 4 d soulz/so the streets is more attentive!

Its a solitary path/we chose and we walk on/
christ-conciousness!/do the math and get ur rock on!

^. . .blah blah friggin' blah. The same KRS1 you quote battled Molly for over 20 years, battled Nelly before "Nellyville" dropped, and has battle gazillions of street cats.

Stay in your friggin' lane and handle your biz, don't come up knocking up on mine simply because you don't battle rap or like it. If you can't respect what i do, then don't expect anybody to respect yours and come spit on this thread.

Can't spit gospel my ass. Nobody gives you the right to classify who can and who can't spit gospel irrespective of whether they do secular songs or not. FYI, i've/i written/spit gospel as well. I have a 1 or 2 minute gospel spit recorded on my bro's phone, have written at the spur of the moment, so don't you come giving me lip about what i do or don't.

Oooh,U so sensitive!
How about puttin ur pen where u mouth is instead of over-reacting.Let me see u spit some God-lyriks that can lift d spirit! I've alwayz acknowledged u as one of Nairaland's illest Netcees but when it comez 2 God-Hiphop,puhleeze, u can't give what u dnt have!
As for that bit about KRS 1,i concede. That's why i keep my nose clean from all the battling going on,before someone else uses me as bad example!

What the hell are you yappin' about? I've spat gospel on the Rap Freestyle thread, I've been spittin' gospel on this thread, flip a few pages back, there's enough to act as evidence. Negro please, you are no one to tell me what i have and don't have. I don't go about hassling and getting on your nuts about how you don't battle, neither do you see the other cats do that. You stated your status, errone respected that, no one bugged you, yet you come off every now and then, yapping about how peops  don't have it in them to rap gospel. You want people to respect your craft when u don't respect theirs? Talk of intolerance and an effin' arrogant attitude to add to that.

"Harsh words spoken stirreth up strife, but a soft answer turneth away wrath"

In the long run,it doesn't matter who wins the argument, because everybody gets hurt! I'd rather walk away from it all and break bread with my people.

Gbade,i apologize 4 upsetting u.We all have the right 2 choose the path we walk on without being judged by others. All judgement belongs to the SON.I'm sorry if i've put anybody down with my posts. That's not my fortè.

Battling is played out 4 me,but yall don't have 2 feel d same.We can all get along.Nuff said!

Short Prayer

Dear Lord my God, whose Clemency--never cease
may i be a subject of u'r unending kindness & bliss
be wrapped in your care so my foes in blindess they hiss
Liberate me from the cruel hands of my~enemies
even though they try to de-mise me by~any~means
if they come in one way in 7 ways they shall flee
positive results and triumph is what i desire from thee
strike the wicked ones bundle them up nd slay 'em
may the grace of Jesus Christ 4ever abide wit us AMEN.

you know what? let me post that spit i did on my bro's phone. . .

check. . .

For we battle not against the flesh and blood/
nor the Wess and Sword//
when weak ones want to test our Lord/
spit a verse from the Bible and smear the war paint/
pray a verb from your heart with a slug range/
reverse the wackness//pierce the darkness with the Light/
salt of the World, i season that spit with Heaven's might/
my knees bent, my lips on prayer/
pierecing that darkness like the tip o' a saber/
Heavenly endowed, kick bars like the feet of a jailer/
never less of being blessed, don't hate- it's the will of my Maker/
bolder grunts//shoulders crunch, you get the feel of the haters/
but i ain't fazed, with faith in Christ, my name on the Book with the Quill on the Paper/
sometimes may go astray, on my grind like meat on a grater/
nevertheless, put back on track, going to meet with my Saviour/
Heaven's my destination and i'ma meet with ya later/

Paradise & the marriage of christ/my name boldly written on the tablets of life/
i'm walking into heaven all covered in white/and i see God himself in astonishing lite!

No more hard work/making my heart jerk/
just muzik/everyday's a concert!

Hammerjack bumping/recordz spinning/
the party of a lifetime is just beginning!

Boy! Its going to be wild in heaven/we going to be having/d craziest fun/praising d son/while Dj Holyghost keeps blazing our song(on and on and on and on)

i just can't wait 4 that day/that i would see HIM/
face to face/and behold his awesome kingdom!

Party catz/that's where d party's at/
sweet heaven!/that's where my heart is at! (feel me?)

I'm the richest man in Babylon
swiftest on this here gospel microphone
scratch the surface bleed from my thoughts
my mind is the gun and i'm taking wild shots

If life binds us together, vein of Siamese twins
from a toddler to a man,  veil cover this idle streams
no effort to even swim, simply walk on the water
it's common knowledge all gold don't even glister
don't know me well then don't ever call me mister
instead say i'm the chosen one, formidable that's me son
from the master to the slave, deceit in every nation

We all in pursuit chase these wild beasts
rise up businessmen and priests, prisoners on parole
from the south east to the troubled middle east
spend wisely invest a percent of your payroll
when you get old, you already reached your goal
my beacon of hope keeps me where i need to be
the end is near, a thief in your vicinity or mine
the father, the son in the most highly divine

U been inspired by that script:'richest man in Babylon'.Its all gravy as long as u pay God 10% before u pay yourself first!

These linez exploded my mental:"if life binds us 2gether/veins of siamese twins/
from a toddler 2 a man/veil covers this idle streamz!
(Some deep cyphaz right there! Just what i needed to spit d next round)

(cough) Mic Check:

suicidal feenz/chronic poisoning they vital springz/
dreaming of being starz/with d privileges the title brings!

Holding berrettaz/and A.Ks under they sweaterz/
they keep breaking the law/but can't break their fetterz!

Enraged thugz/exchange slugz/
tired of the snitching/and all the fake love/
rather die frm halos twitching/than resort to gay clubz!

'aint no love 4 a po nigga'!/one of the feenz sniggers/
d rest nod in agreement/accepting the bleak picture!

So they stay smoking all day/selling crack in d hallwayz/
watching life by-pass them/they on d block alwayz!

10 years later/still they aint nuthin greater/
watched others succeed/but they rather turn haterz/corrupting kidz trying to come up/making 'em participatorz/selling coke to they neighbourz/No 1 violatorz!

Anutha 10 years/and d feenz are quiet/pushing up daisys/d graves is silent/but life goes on/and d streetz stay violent/another fallz victim/and d priest says A-men!

Thanks guys I am really feelin da love,
Its awesome being 15 but heres a little rhyme for yaw

I try to do right and rise above the crowd
be called good and faithful servant When I rise above the clouds
But c This life I'm livin is a constant struggle
I gotta take control of my life like da mic or like Brady in da huddle
Its hard when the devils the one I'm tryin to defeat
tryin to find a legal way to meet ends meet
Even though its a little hard I can keep up
because when the heats up the lord helps me keep my feet up
and put one in front of another
walk the narrow path you and one of ya brothers
lead on keep on jus doing the same
follow christ through ya life n watch me come wit da flame
used to be sittin here wonderin why I'm livin here
but I found I am spittin here because the lord christ has sent me here
and this is miracoulous servin wit a purpose
doin what I love so all can say they heard it

Its not done but I guess its decent

what up son! Welcome back to God's Lyricist Lounge where d praise dnt stop. What ur going through is what we all as God Emcees go through. Here's my own piece of mind:

i hear d streets calling/my ol Gs wt whips balling/
trying to pull me back/tho i try 2 I-gnore them!/I'm dealing wt d drama/on my way 2 rap-stardom/diggin through d word/trying to hit rock-bottom!

Got gurlz shaking they butts/anytime i look their direction/
they got me stressing out/trying to lose d scent of seduction/cute belly buttons/looks is heart-stopping/
they trying to take me down/want to shut down my functions!

Secular labels want to sign me/bt first they try 2 re-define me/
Make me dance go go/and rap for d mojos/nah! that is a no,no/i'd rather stay low-pro/wont sell ma soul 4 no dough!

Every God-emcee/be facing d same prospects/Temptation is common to all/Its part of d process!
