I hear that bag of cement was 700 naira few years ago. But now it's about 1700 naira. Does anyone know when or if the price will come back down soon? Now that we have a new administration.

1700 Naira? Hmmm, how much bags of cement would be enough to build a 4 bedroom house?

I'm guessing 300 bags including all the floors, walls, and fence. More or less not sure to be honest with you.

Cement goes for about Ksh 700 per 50kg bag. Ironically, prices seldom goes down as quick as they hike. A modern four bedroom house will use at least 2000 bags of cement. I am talking from a Kenyan point of view and there is no two ways about it. Any short cuts will have grave results.

1700 naira per 50kg of Cement Bag! This damn expensive! Here 25kg is 400Naira; wtih shipping and clearing to Nigeria. It will still sell for 700Naira. Someone is riping-off Nigerians!!

@Yink99,
problem is import is not allowed in naija
I would have shipped and resell 25kg at N500.
They ban cement so that like of Dangote, WAPCO can milk Nigerians dry!
They ban shipping so they can cover-up the unproductive/inefficient/bad quality nature of naija manufacturing: no eletricity, no infrastructure etc.
It is a rip off. It is criminal.
