Brothers,

Do not get bothered about this 2.1 stuff, i tink why they do it is to reduce the number they will be left to deal with at the end of the day.

2.1 or wateva nothin remains bigger than God.

See, the big prob we job seekers get to face is the internal recruitment goin on in most firms and corporate organisations, but then sometimes its attributable to the fact dat they need just a few people and in any case recruiting silently cuts down on the work involved in screening and conducting tests for a large pool of applicants. so for them its an easy way  out, gd 4 them, but bad for us.
What can i say???

Wit regard to  the above comment, i wuldn't dispute but then again i cant say for sure but i'll tell u one thing that u always got to keep in mind, YOU GOT NOTHING TO LOOSE.

"Thanks alot my man, Carolina just apply and leave the rest to God. After all most people with 2.1 did not merit it and may not be able to defend it"

Pachigo you lazy man!I'm sure being the moron you are,you haven't stopped to think that if companies don't ask for 2.1(or any yardstick they feel),there will be no incentive to work hard in school and as a whole, the standard of education will drop?I am starting to feel that what a former poster said is true:"Nairaland is made up of mostly 2.2 and third class graduates who are angry at themselves for not working hard enough/ focussing while in school".

I made a 2.1 and worked hard for every grade I got.If you feel 2.1 don't deserve it,why don't you feel 1st class don't deserve it either?Abi na another school dem dey go?Huh

There is no country in the world where companies do not ask for higher performing graduates.I have been in the Uk and it is just the same.Bigger companies such as goldman saks(amoong others)go round schools recruiting 1st class ONLY before the smaller companies come for 2.1 and so on and so forth.

These are private companies,DO THEY NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO EMPLOY WHO THEY FEEL LIKE?

iincarnate,do not be sentimental about this.i did not insult him,i only spoke the truth.

What sort of person reasons that those that do well don't deserve it and those that don't do?Only a lazy moron as far as i'm concerned. It is not as if you did not know that companies like to ask for 2.1 when you were entering school. So why all the noise?I give God all the glory for my 2.1 but He knows that i worked hard.

Are you saying that your lecturers are mad and they do not know how to mark scripts?

What other reason would this particular person have for saying what he said other than to make himself feel better for not working hard enough?Do you think I did not want to get 1st class? But even as i didn't, you don't see me going around shouting 1st class don't deserve it!!

@og2711, i'm not being sentimental about d issue.i just feel u shd be less abusive.i got a 2.1,worked hard 4 it but still owe everything to God.people work but may not get their desired results. d fact that d guy feels like airing his views shdnt make him a moroan, just ignore him. Jealousy comes alongside success and every company reserves d right to set any criteria.just keep it cool & let it rest here, make we no show ourselves. dreammakermortal@yahoo.com - if u dont mind being friends.

Every year, young, energetic, and vibrant graduates are being pumped out of NYSC in two batches. Many of them travel here and there in search of greener pasture in several multinational companies, private companies, banks etc. but only a few remain lucky after several attempt.

Is it because the barber does not know how to barb or that the blade is not sharp? Thorough research has discovered that the fault is from applicants and not the employers.

og2711,why are souding so harsh and bitter like u are among the people that dont merit their 2:1 or high grades, besides the guy didnt say that everyone that got a 2:1 cant defend it,he said some and its the truth(going by the many "RUNS" that go on campus)I think you shud have read his response and digested it b4 replying him like that.Take kia pple. If you couldn't attain a certain grade, don't feel hateful and take it out on others. If you worked hard and made 2.1 or 1st class, it's a thing of glory to God, and if sorted your way 2 dat, ha! ha! ha! There r interviews dat'll expose you remember? Come to think of it, it's easy to make it for God's sake, is it not to read your course contents and score 'A' or even 'B'? However 2.2 can load up on professional certifications, train and retrain urself so as 2 compete strongly with anybody. Enough said!
